Yang Tian and Huang Juan were assigned to the same examination center, Binhai Second High School, though they weren't in the same classroom.

Arriving at Binhai Second High School, Yang Tian felt a strong sense of familiarity, for before his rebirth, he had attended this very school, as had Huang Juan and Chen Ming.

"Wow, the city high schools are so beautiful—much prettier than Shengli Middle School!" Today, Huang Juan wore a snow-white tracksuit, radiating energy and vitality.

She had ridden into the city on a motorcycle without getting motion sickness, and after Yang Tian told her a gentle love story the night before, she slept deeply and peacefully. As a result, she felt especially spirited today.

"Here, take this. Remember, if you get nervous, have a sip of water. Our goal is Binhai First High School!" Though Yang Tian felt nostalgic for Second High, he was determined to pursue his dream—and to help Huang Juan fulfill hers—by getting accepted into Binhai First together.

He handed Huang Juan a bottle of green tea, and casually wiped the sweat from her forehead. The morning was already hot, and when the weather turned warm, restlessness followed. Without a good mindset, performance would surely suffer.

"Mm, you have to do your best too!" Huang Juan pulled a floral handkerchief from her pocket and wiped the sweat from Yang Tian's face, then turned to enter the exam hall.

"Wait, Juan, take this!" After pausing for a moment, Yang Tian decided to reveal his "secret weapon"—a dried jujube blossom.

This jujube blossom marked the beginning of his rebirth and his dreams with Huang Juan. He believed it would invigorate her spirit for the first subject, Chinese. With renewed vigor, she could write a bold and spirited essay; once the essay was done well, the Chinese exam was practically won.

Sure enough, as Yang Tian handed the shriveled jujube blossom to Huang Juan, her face lit up with joy, and she walked happily toward the exam hall.

Seeing this, Yang Tian felt energized as well. The journey of dreams would undergo a qualitative leap because of the entrance exam, and he was working hard for it.

In the afternoon, they would take the mathematics exam. Kids from the countryside excelled at math—so did Huang Juan, Chen Ming, and An Qi.

The next morning, English—their weak spot—would be tested. Fortunately, this year's English exam didn't include listening comprehension, so they could still pass strongly.

Science was another of their strengths, and political science and history even more so. Though the two and a half days of continuous exams were tense, their fighting spirit remained high. Except for An Qi, everyone was full of laughter and cheer.

After the exams ended on the third morning, Huang Juan, Chen Ming, and the others relaxed, becoming as lively as little birds freed from their cages.

The school bus wouldn't take them back to Luohe Town until three in the afternoon, so Yang Tian suggested, "Let's go play at the City Hall Square!"

"Great, let's go now! The exams are over—we deserve to have some fun!" Huang Juan laughed heartily, skipping like a little girl.

"Yeah, no more exams, no more books. To hell with the entrance exam—goodbye forever!" To Yang Tian's surprise, Chen Ming reacted even more dramatically, tossing all his political science and history textbooks from his bag into the roadside trash bin.

Was this really Chen Ming? Yang Tian felt a strong pang of guilt. In his previous life, Chen Ming had been an honest, reserved child who rarely expressed his feelings. Now, he'd thrown away his textbooks, releasing all the pent-up emotions inside him.

He must have been influenced by Yang Tian—Yang Tian had taught him how to express himself!

"Chen Ming, good for you!" Some students who knew Chen Ming shouted wildly from behind, imitating him—either throwing their books into the trash, or tossing them into the air.

"Yang Tian, you're my best brother—forever!" Chen Ming walked over, placed his right hand on Yang Tian's shoulder, and shouted loudly.

The surrounding students applauded with all their might, and Huang Juan, standing nearby, laughed so hard she couldn't close her mouth. The tense entrance exam had never let her feel so relaxed.

Seeing the students throwing their books, the school leaders were astonished, but could only shake their heads helplessly. The students had graduated, after all—no need to restrain them any further.

Only Bao Yuehong pointed at Yang Tian with her finger, shaking her head and sighing, as if to say, "You, it's all your fault!"

Yang Tian shrugged, pretending to be innocent, but felt utterly delighted inside. This carefree release of emotions was both cathartic and memorable—he believed everyone would remember this moment.

"Come on, let's go to City Hall Square. I heard it's been expanded and now looks like a garden—so beautiful!" Once the other students dispersed, Huang Juan said with a smile.

"You go ahead, I'm not going," replied An Qi with a bitter smile, while Yang Tian and Chen Ming agreed enthusiastically.

"What's wrong, An Qi? Are you feeling unwell?" Chen Ming quickly walked over, concern in his voice.

"No, it's probably just exhaustion from the exams. I want to go back and rest for a while." An Qi didn't dare look at Chen Ming, feeling as if she might cry. She wasn't deliberately dampening their spirits—she just truly wasn't in the mood for fun.

Yang Tian could see through it—An Qi must have struggled in the exams, and so was feeling dejected. For students, the entrance exam was a major life event, one of the greatest influences on mood and confidence.

"How about we all go back with you and rest?" Chen Ming gently suggested, and Yang Tian and Huang Juan nodded in agreement. They were all good friends—no one should be left behind.

"No, you go have fun! If you all stay because I'm down, it'll make me feel even worse." An Qi spoke while gently pushing them away, urging them to go play.

To avoid making An Qi feel even worse, Chen Ming, Yang Tian, and Huang Juan exchanged glances, then slowly walked toward City Hall Square.

Chen Ming kept glancing back as he walked, seeing An Qi waving at them, and felt a pang of sadness.

Yang Tian, Huang Juan, and Chen Ming arrived at City Hall Square. The newly completed square was beautiful, grand and spacious, surrounded by pavilions and lush lawns. In the center, peonies, crabapples, lilacs, and miniature orchids bloomed in abundance, filling the air with fragrance. Beauty plum trees, golden locusts, red bamboo, snow pines, and Beijing cypresses stood proudly amid the landscaping, making the scene exceptionally picturesque.

On a normal day, Huang Juan would have been overjoyed at such a beautiful place, but today she sat moodily in the pavilion, uninterested in the scenery.

Yang Tian sat beside her, while Chen Ming settled on a nearby patch of grass, equally melancholy.

Yang Tian knew they were all upset because of An Qi. She hadn't reviewed with them before the exam, so her anxious performance was understandable. Although they'd given her plenty of help later, her nerves never seemed to relax.

Still, Yang Tian believed that if An Qi had followed his review outline and studied diligently afterward, she could have made it into Binhai First High School.

To cheer up Huang Juan and Chen Ming, Yang Tian decided to play a childhood game of Rock-Paper-Scissors:

"A three-year-old wears new shoes, carries a schoolbag off to primary school. The teacher says he's too young, so he runs back home with his bag. Run, run, can't run; done, done, nothing to brag; rise, rise, can't rise; come, come, off to school; school, school, learn some knowledge; draw, draw, draw a picture; picture, picture, library; library, library, can't manage; manage, manage, manage a big fire; fire, fire, locomotive; head, head, you're just a steamed bun!"

After playing for a while, Huang Juan and Chen Ming's spirits lifted a bit, and their innocent laughter echoed across the square.
