The situation had escalated. Huang Juan and Yang Xueling were both anxious, standing on either side of Yang Tian, urging him to hide quickly. The villagers, young and old alike, poked their heads out, asking questions, unsure what major event had occurred.

Even Yang Bao and his wife, along with Zhou Sheng, were alarmed. Zhou Sheng's face was contorted with anger; ever since he'd latched onto this Taiwanese businessman, he felt he'd risen above the rest and could not tolerate seeing his precious son beaten like this.

Yang Bao and his wife, on the other hand, feared that Xia Dong might actually harm Yang Tian. Yang Bao was already prepared to fight to the death—whoever dared touch his son, he would fight them.

"Yang Tian, you bastard! How dare you do this to my son? I'll kill you!" Zhou Sheng rushed forward, intent on striking Yang Tian.

"Zhou Sheng, what are you doing? An adult hitting a child—do you call yourself human?" Yang Bao immediately shielded Yang Tian, pushing Zhou Sheng aside. Truthfully, Yang Tian could have easily knocked Zhou Sheng down himself, but he had no desire for a fight. Of course, if Zhou Sheng tried to hurt Yang Bao, Yang Tian would not hold back.

"Ah, Xiaobao, you probably don't understand. My boss is about to run for mayor of Binhai City. By then, I'll at least be a departmental-level official. We're no longer in the same class, so mind your manners, or you'll suffer for it later. To me, your kid is just a stray!" Zhou Sheng sneered arrogantly.

"You—" Hearing Zhou Sheng call Yang Tian a stray, Yang Bao was about to strike him, but Li Xiuying stopped him. She was pragmatic and feared Yang Bao might suffer.

The villagers murmured criticism of Zhou Sheng, but there was little they could do. He had indeed clung to a powerful businessman and soared to success overnight.

"Look, our Miss Zhang is here—the daughter of the Taiwanese businessman, the future mayor's child! Xiaobao, let me tell you, to know someone like her requires real ability. You, I doubt you'll ever have that in your lifetime!" Zhou Sheng pointed to the distance, boasting.

Xia Dong escorted a fashionable woman in a mink coat, hurrying toward them.

"Excuse me, are you Yang Tian?" To everyone's surprise, Miss Zhang walked straight to Yang Tian, her expression respectful.

"Yes!" Yang Tian replied with a calm smile. If it weren't for fears of troubling Yang Bao and his wife, he would have already confronted Zhou Sheng. As for Xia Dong, he didn't believe Xia was superior to him in skill.

"Hello, I'm Zhang Xiuxiu, Zhang Zhi's sister. It's wonderful to finally meet you. I've been looking for you for a long time!" Zhang Xiuxiu said warmly, immediately grasping Yang Tian's hand.

"Hello!" Yang Tian was a little taken aback—this fashionable woman with particularly prominent features was Zhang Zhi's sister. He had suspected as much before, but wasn't certain.

Before the holidays, he heard from Zhang Zhi that their father and sister were planning to expand inland, possibly choosing Binhai, as it was the ancestral home of the Zhang family.

When Xia Dong had left earlier and then returned, Yang Tian sensed something was off. Xia Dong was unlikely to back Zhou Sheng, since Zhou had little education and would never hold high office in the Taiwanese company. So why chase after him, and then return so quickly?

"Actually, my purpose in coming back to Binhai was to find you and thank you properly. I've had trouble locating you. Just now, Zhou Sheng's son said someone named Yang Tian had beaten him, so I asked Xia Dong to check it out—and it turned out to be you! So you live in Daliushu Village!" Zhang Xiuxiu was clearly excited.

"I've always lived in Daliushu Village," Yang Tian replied, gently withdrawing his hand from Zhang Xiuxiu's grasp. She suddenly realized her lapse in decorum.

"Zhou Sheng, what's wrong with you? You knew my purpose in visiting was to find Yang Tian, and he lives in your village, yet you claimed you'd never heard of him. Are you deliberately misleading me?" Still flustered, Zhang Xiuxiu scolded Zhou Sheng loudly.

"I'm sorry, Miss, I honestly didn't know the Yang Tian you sought was this Yang Tian!" Zhou Sheng was deeply uncomfortable. He never imagined Zhang Xiuxiu would value Yang Tian so highly—how could he continue to show off in the village now?

The villagers of Daliushu were astonished. Little Tian was really making something of himself, gaining attention wherever he went. As for Zhou Sheng, he was left to be mocked.

"How many times have I told you to keep an eye out for Yang Tian—sixteen years old, living near Luohe Town, a spirited young man... You'll answer for this at the company!" After reprimanding Zhou Sheng, Zhang Xiuxiu turned and smiled at Yang Tian. "Yang Tian, could I trouble you for a few minutes to discuss something?"

"Alright, but I can't stay long. I need to hurry back to help my sister save this poor starling," Yang Tian said, pointing to the bird in Yang Xueling's hands, smiling.

"Yang Tian, don't be so arrogant. Our Miss Zhang is inviting you so politely, yet you act so proudly!" Zhou Sheng was incensed at Yang Tian's attitude.

"Zhou Sheng, shut up! This has nothing to do with you. Just as my brother said, Yang Tian, you have a kind heart!" Zhang Xiuxiu was momentarily stunned, then rebuked Zhou Sheng and smiled gently at Yang Tian.

Zhou Sheng fell silent, retreating respectfully.

"Dad, Mom, I'll be right back!" Noticing Yang Bao and his wife still in shock, Yang Tian greeted them before heading up the right-hand hill with Zhang Xiuxiu.

From the hill, one could see the distant Bai Lang River. The water was frozen, the banks blanketed in snow—a rather striking scene.

"Xia Dong, you don't need to follow. I want to speak with Yang Tian alone! Don't worry, no matter how strong he is, he won't lay a hand on me!" Zhang Xiuxiu sent Xia Dong away, then moved to the highest point of the hill with Yang Tian, gazing out at the beautiful countryside.

"You want to talk about Zhang Zhi?" Yang Tian asked with a smile. He recalled that Zhang Zhi's father, Zhang Youcheng, had only come to help him in 2000, bringing Zhang Zhi's sister along. He hadn't expected them so soon, likely owing to Zhang Zhi's thriving internet café business.

"Yes, to be precise, you changed my brother. He used to be very withdrawn. Though full of ideas, he never communicated with the family. Even opening the internet café in Binhai was an act of stubbornness—no one could reason with him. But in just over half a year, he's become a new person, coming home energized, laughing and talking!" At the mention of Zhang Zhi, Zhang Xiuxiu grew animated, speaking enthusiastically.

"People always change! It's just part of growing up, and it has little to do with me," Yang Tian said with a cheerful smile. Zhang Zhi had indeed changed a lot. Compared to before, he had grown much stronger.

"Don't be so modest. Now, whenever he comes home, he talks about you most. He says you look like a child, but your mind surpasses adults. At first, I didn't believe it, but today, I do!" Zhang Xiuxiu said, pulling a photo from her mink coat and handing it to Yang Tian. "This is a picture he gave me of you two together. Look how happy he is!"

Yang Tian took the photo—indeed, it was a shot of him and Zhang Zhi, taken in front of the Red Universe Internet Café's four branches when they opened. That day, Zhang Zhi was as joyful as a child.

Seeing the photo, Yang Tian couldn't help but smile, recalling the trials and tribulations of the past half year with Zhang Zhi. It had certainly been thrilling. After enduring hardships and looking back, he realized those times were truly beautiful and memorable.
