Bai Zhentian shook his head and said, “He is far too weak now, and knows too much. For him, this is a calamity.”
When it came to Bai Ling’s origins, Bai Zhentian said no more. A gentle smile appeared on his face as he slowly rose.
“Having you by Ling’er’s side is the greatest blessing of his life.” Bai Zhentian’s mind recalled the unimaginable hardships the girl before him must have endured over the past three years. He bowed slightly, gratitude evident in his expression. “I was abrupt earlier. Matters concerning Ling’er’s safety force me to be wary of everyone.”
“Could you promise me one thing? Do not tell him that my cultivation has been restored, nor that you are the current emperor. Conceal your true strength. If he knows there is a powerful guardian nearby, he will lose his true path. On the journey of primordial cultivation, he will only remain stagnant.” A warm smile graced Bai Zhentian’s face.
Xuan Ningyue nodded and turned to leave.
...
Darkness gradually faded, the sky lightened to a pale gray, and the air was fresh.
Bai Ling slowly regained consciousness, sensing a faint aura of primordial energy in his chest.
He examined his body carefully. Lei Zhentian’s life essence hovered about a millimeter to the left of his heart. But what shocked him more was a drop of bright crimson blood floating one millimeter to the right of his heart.
This drop of crimson blood was one-tenth the size of the blood inside the coffin.
Had that missing tenth already merged into his heart, traveling through his meridians, flowing throughout his body...?
Yet he felt no discomfort at all!
This was no dream.
A heavy weight settled in Bai Ling’s heart as realization dawned: he had fully awakened, stepping into the Initial Primordial Realm. This was unrelated to Bai Zhentian’s blood, but due to that mysterious drop of crimson blood in the secret space.
That one-tenth drop of crimson blood!
Dizziness washed over Bai Ling’s mind, and immediately he found himself back in that mysterious space.
A green halo filled his vision. Ahead, the drop of blood above the coffin had vanished, but the coffin continued to emit a radiant, rainbow-colored light.
It seemed that the blood had indeed fused into his body.
Bai Ling approached the seven-colored glazed coffin step by step and peered inside again. The woman inside had her eyes slightly closed, her chest rising and falling rhythmically.
Whew!
Without that drop of blood, she was still alive.
Then… what was so special about that drop of blood?
After a moment, a brilliant smile spread across his face.
Bai Ling remained in the space for an hour before exiting the mysterious realm.

“How do you feel, Brother Ling?” Xuan Ningyue looked at the awakened young man, noticing his gaze was clearer than the night before, radiating an indescribable confidence. A bright smile blossomed on her face.
Her melodious inquiry sounded by his ear, Bai Ling’s face lit up with excitement as he chuckled gently, “I can feel the primordial energy!”
He turned and bowed toward his third uncle’s room. “Third Uncle, thank you. I have awakened. Ling’er will never betray the blood you gave.”
He understood that his bloodline’s awakening came from that mysterious blood, but over the past eighteen years, everything Bai Zhentian had done for him was unforgettable. Yet that drop of life essence made his heart ache deeply.
Then, the image of Ji Jiu’er flashed through his mind, and a cold sneer curled his lips: “A genius disciple of the Sacred Primordial Immortal Palace, three years, huh? Thirty years? Heh, see you in three days!”
“Yueyue, could you help me deliver something to the Ji family?” Bai Ling said casually.
Xuan Ningyue: ???
Bai Ling pulled out a marriage contract from his bosom—his own copy—and he and Xuan Ningyue entered the room.
Ink fell, the brush paused!
Suddenly, Bai Ling’s right hand snatched the dagger from the table. The sharp blade swiftly cut a bleeding gash across his left palm…
Smearing the fresh blood onto the paper, leaving a glaring crimson imprint!
Xuan Ningyue’s face showed utter shock; her rosy lips parted wide as she stared blankly at the marriage contract. On it was written in large characters: “Divorce,” and below, an even larger line:
Bai Ling! No need for a hundred years, or thirty years, or even three. In three days, I will fight you!!!
“Ah!”
“Brother Ling, Ji Jiu’er is at the peak of the Spiritual Primordial Realm!!!” Xuan Ningyue pressed a delicate hand against Bai Ling’s forehead, finding no abnormal temperature. She gasped.
Bai Ling turned with a faint smile. “Yueyue, just deliver this contract. In three days, I will come personally to challenge her!”
“Go!”
“Really?” Though now the Empress of the Luo Xuan Empire, after three years poring over countless archives, Xuan Ningyue had never seen a newly awakened person challenge a peak Spiritual Primordial Realm expert.
Unless they were courting death!
The primordial energy barely displayed by a Spiritual Primordial cultivator alone could cause a level one Initial Primordial cultivator’s body to explode.
Xuan Ningyue glanced back thrice as she slowly left under Bai Ling’s confident gaze. Her mind was consumed by one thought:
The Ling brother she grew up with has gone mad!
She had even prepared to immediately return to the empire and summon the most renowned divine healer to cure Bai Ling’s mental affliction.
“Wait, take this back too, I don’t want it!”

Xuan Ningyue stared blankly at the spatial ring Bai Ling tossed her way, lips slightly parted. After a moment, a brilliant smile returned to her face.
Bai Ling took a deep breath and stepped outside.
At that moment, Bai Zhentian strode over swiftly. Seeing the confident smile on Bai Ling’s face, he was slightly taken aback.
He had clearly heard Xuan Ningyue’s earlier exclamations from inside the room.
“Third Uncle, your cultivation has returned?” Bai Ling asked sharply, a sudden pang in his heart.
Bai Zhentian hesitated for a few seconds, confused inwardly. Had this young man discovered the truth? No, impossible! Over the past decade-plus, he had watched Bai Ling grow day and night, acting as both father and mother. He knew him intimately.
This kid must be trying to trick him!
“You brat, did you think the pill I gave you was some miracle medicine to restore my cultivation overnight?” Bai Zhentian spat and laughed bitterly.
Then he blurted out, “Have you just awakened and broken through, and your head is filled with excitement so you want to challenge Ji Jiu’er? Do you even know how strong a peak Spiritual Primordial Realm cultivator is?”
“Even a newly entered Earth Primordial Realm expert cannot guarantee a one-hit kill, let alone she’s a disciple of the Sacred Primordial Immortal Palace. Her techniques and combat experience far surpass that of a brat like you.”
Bai Zhentian trembled with anger as he continued, “My reputation doesn’t matter, but you—why seek unnecessary suffering? Times change. Wait a few years, and I believe you will defeat her and avenge your humiliation!”
Bai Zhentian took a deep breath, gazing at the youth before him. Though Bai Ling had awakened at eighteen, losing ground to countless others at the starting line, his temperament had been honed to great steadiness over the years.
But this boy, having just awakened his bloodline, now radiated a different aura—steadiness mixed with an unexplainable confidence.
Bai Ling shook his head with a smile. “Third Uncle, Ji Jiu’er and her mother have been bullying me. Should I endure for three years, thirty years, a hundred years?”
“Heh, that long? I don’t need it. I only need three days!”
“In three days, I will make her regret her choice. Even if she becomes a top disciple of the Sacred Primordial Immortal Palace, she will become my stepping stone!”
Bai Zhentian stood rooted, watching Bai Ling vanish. His mind was in turmoil. What exactly was Bai Ling relying on?
His blood?
