Chapter 12: Kiss Her

Guan Yueyue found herself once again cornered by Shen Zhi in the bathroom, yet she dared not make a sound, for Xu Ziyu and that venomous beauty were just outside.
Facing Shen Zhi, Guan Yueyue no longer felt the same fear and terror she once did—perhaps because he had spared her that night.
Still, she was unwilling to get too close to him.
She had thought Shen Zhi would let her go as before, but unexpectedly, he pulled her into his arms. Instinctively, she struggled to break free, only to be pinned against the sink, cold pressing against her back.
Then his lips claimed hers. She tried to pull away, but he controlled the back of her head, rendering her immobile as he kissed her for nearly two minutes.
When they emerged, Guan Yueyue’s lips burned fiercely and felt slightly swollen to the touch. She dared not raise her head and lowered it, sitting beside Xu Ziyu again—but this time, she kept a cautious distance.
“What’s wrong, Yueyue?” Xu Ziyu noticed her unusual behavior and asked with concern.
Ming Ziluo glanced around. “Is Ah Zhi not back yet?”
No sooner had she spoken than Shen Zhi returned and nonchalantly resumed his seat.
After dinner, when Xu Ziyu wanted to escort Guan Yueyue, Shen Zhi blocked him. “Let me take her. I have some errands to run nearby, so I can drop her off on the way.”
Though Xu Ziyu found this strange, he had no reason to refuse.
Ming Ziluo stepped forward. “Ah Zhi, where are you going? I’ll come with you.”
...
In the car.

Guan Yueyue and Ming Ziluo sat in the back, while Shen Zhi drove.
Guan Yueyue told Shen Zhi her address.
“Is Yueyue really Ziyu’s girlfriend?” Ming Ziluo suddenly asked.
With Shen Zhi present, Guan Yueyue remained silent but nodded wisely.
Ming Ziluo was quite pleased and then suddenly said, “Ah Zhi probably isn’t into your type.”
“My type?” Guan Yueyue blinked, puzzled.
Ming Ziluo stared at her. “I mean...”
“Don’t joke with me, Ziluo,” Shen Zhi interrupted. “Miss Guan only has Xu Ziyu in her heart, and has liked him since childhood. Such feelings are not to be sullied lightly.”
Guan Yueyue: “...” Sarcastic.
After Shen Zhi’s words, Ming Ziluo felt much more at ease. “Ah Zhi, can I come to your place tonight?”
Shen Zhi said nothing.
Ming Ziluo smiled. “If you don’t say anything, I’ll take that as a yes.”
Suddenly, Guan Yueyue spoke up. “Mr. Shen, please just drop me off here.”
Shen Zhi glanced out the window—it was a bustling street filled with eateries. “Are you sure?”

“Stop the car,” Guan Yueyue said firmly.
Shen Zhi pulled over. Guan Yueyue opened the door and stepped out. “Goodbye, Mr. Shen, Miss Ming.”
She entered the food street. Moments later, her phone chimed with a message from Shen Zhi, advising her to stay safe.
She replied, “Thank you for your concern, Mr. Shen.”
Guan Yueyue bought some snacks and two cups of milk tea before hailing a taxi back to her private villa.
“Ah Zhi, where are we going?” Ming Ziluo sat in the front passenger seat.
Shen Zhi replied, “I’m going to the hospital. Want to come?”
Ming Ziluo disliked hospitals, especially the smell of disinfectant. “Ah Zhi, don’t be a doctor anymore. Come to my company instead. I’ve saved the position of head of the design department for you.”
Shen Zhi’s tone grew colder. “It’s over between us.”
Ming Ziluo refused to accept this ending. “I’ve never believed we’re truly done. Ah Zhi, you can’t forget me, just as I can’t forget you. Not in this lifetime.”
