Volume One, Chapter 11: Time Reverses, Retracing the Past!
In the end, Su Yixue still joined this authoritative team. Although she didn’t know exactly what the organization did, it was certainly better than having those two demons constantly bickering on her desk and preventing her from working.
“By the way, do you demons have any special abilities? Or is it just pure hand-to-hand combat? That won’t be enough to rule the world,” Xia Yang asked.
His previous tasks were completely finished, and since the boss hadn’t assigned any new work, he was bored out of his mind. So he spent the entire morning watching the two lively troublemakers doodle battle plans on a blank sheet of paper while zoning out.
Upon hearing this, Yatina, who was drawing up the battle plan with Sherley, looked up thoughtfully and said, “Fine, it’s time to show you the true power of this Demon Lord! Otherwise, I think you’re starting to disrespect me more and more!”
“Soon you’ll realize that signing a contract with me is the luckiest thing that’s ever happened to you!”
With that, Yatina closed her eyes, raised her hands above her head, and although her black wings behind her did not flap, she lifted off the ground, floating midair. Then she shouted:
“Time rewind!”
The moment the words left her mouth,
A dazzling purple light burst forth from Yatina’s entire body!
Xia Yang’s pupils dilated wildly as he swallowed hard.
Time rewind!? Could it really reverse time and take them back to the past!?
Meanwhile, Su Yixue, who had been working diligently, also looked up in shock at the scene.
Rewind time?
Back to when?
Back to this morning?
Back to yesterday?
Or even months or years ago?!!!
Would that mean all the hard work she’d done recently would have to be done all over again?!!!
Just as she was about to stand and stop it, it was already too late!
The purple light grew ever more intense until it completely enveloped the office!
When Xia Yang came back to his senses, the light had vanished and the office looked exactly as before.
“Is it already done?” Xia Yang quickly checked his body but felt no different.
He then glanced at his phone to check the time.
It was 11:52 AM, exactly the same as before Yatina cast her spell.
“Could it be! We went back one whole day?!” Xia Yang exclaimed.
“Not one day back…” Sherley, standing nearby, looked a bit embarrassed. After gathering its thoughts, it said weakly, “Yatina did rewind time, but…”
“She only rewound about half a second… and only the time within this office…”
Upon hearing this, Su Yixue glanced at her computer and then exhaled in relief—the files inside showed no changes whatsoever.
Xia Yang was somewhat speechless. He had just pretended to be so shocked earlier...
“Um… Yatina seems to have collapsed…” Sherley warned.
Xia Yang was startled and looked back at Yatina, only to find she was already lying motionless on the floor, having collapsed at some unknown moment.
“Wake up, kid. No sleeping here,” Xia Yang gently patted her rear, and when there was no response, he carefully picked her up and cradled her in his hands.
Flipping her over, he saw her eyes swirling with stars, foam spilling from her mouth.
This gave Xia Yang quite a fright—surely she hadn’t just died mysteriously like that, had she?
Focusing on Yatina for a long moment, his intermediate-level appraisal ability automatically activated.
[Name: Yatina]
[Race: Demon Lord & Succubus]
[Satiation: Hungry]
[Magic Reserve: 1%]
Xia Yang was surprised but immediately understood—goodness, his little succubus had been completely drained!
However, knowing the cause meant he also knew how to fix it.
It was simple enough: just replenish her magic. Xia Yang was an expert in that!
Not to mention, the magic pill he had received that morning was already at hand, and even the magic powder bottle alone could instantly restore a significant amount of magic if fed directly.
Yet, just as he was about to take out the magic pill, Yatina, foaming at the mouth, was snatched away by the arriving Su Yixue.
“I’ll handle this. She’s only out of magic; replenishing her magic will do,” Su Yixue said calmly.
Xia Yang was momentarily stunned. Turning his head, he saw Su Yixue carefully take a crumpled handkerchief from her pocket.
She gently unfolded it layer by layer, revealing a small, completely black vial resting quietly inside.
First, she wiped the foam from Yatina’s mouth with the handkerchief, then opened the black vial and slowly poured an unknown liquid drop by drop into Yatina’s mouth.
Sweat gradually appeared on Su Yixue’s forehead. This mysterious liquid seemed very precious to her, and throughout the process, her expression remained extremely cautious, ensuring not a single drop was spilled.
After finishing, she breathed a sigh of relief and shook the vial to estimate that about one-fifth of the liquid remained. Then she turned to Sherley with an apologetic look and said,
“Sorry, you might not get enough to eat for lunch today.”
“That’s fine. As long as Yatina is okay,” Sherley shook its head. After all, it still had plenty of magic stored inside; it could easily go a whole month without eating or drinking without any problems—just a little hungry, at most.
Yatina slowly opened her eyes. Seeing Su Yixue handing her back to Xia Yang, she spoke up:
“Yatina is fine now, but I want you to forget everything from the past few minutes. At least don’t tell anyone, or else…”
Su Yixue didn’t continue.
Xia Yang nodded, still looking a bit dazed. Seeing this, Su Yixue couldn’t help but add,
“You just awakened your contract demon a few days ago. You might not know yet, but contract demons need to be fed as well. They don’t eat human food—they consume magic.”
“Especially your contract demon, whose daily activities must exhaust quite a bit of magic.”
“Though there’s a website in our circle where you can buy some nutrient liquids, these magic-replenishing items are not only very expensive but also very hard to find.”
Su Yixue paused, glancing at Sherley, who was looking anxiously at Yatina, then continued,
“If you can’t afford it, I can bring an extra bottle of nutrient liquid every day for your contract demon’s lunch.”
Her voice lacked confidence as she spoke. Although she wasn’t short on money, nutrient liquids weren’t so easily obtained.
Previously, she could buy them online, but as the number of people awakening contract demons surged in the last two months, all magic-replenishing products on the website became scarce and exorbitantly priced.
Even the nutrient liquid Su Yixue fed Sherley daily was acquired only through family connections.
If it weren’t for Sherley seeming to genuinely enjoy playing with Yatina, she wouldn’t have gone to such lengths.
