Xia Yang hurriedly rushed into the room. He had originally thought that with Yatina present, nothing unexpected would happen, but the situation before him was far more serious than he had anticipated! Judging by what he saw, it was even possible that someone’s life was at risk!

“What’s wrong with Yi Hong?” Xia Yang kept a respectful distance from the woman on the floor and anxiously turned to ask Yatina.

Yi Hong, of course, referred to the woman lying on the ground—someone he could consider a friend. When Xia Yang first moved here after graduating from university, they weren’t close. It was only after he learned that Yi Hong was a fresh face from his alma mater that they gradually grew familiar. Occasionally, Yi Hong would come to him for advice on academic matters and would later offer some delicacies as thanks.

Seeing her in this state, Xia Yang couldn’t help but worry.

Yatina didn’t answer immediately. At this moment, she hovered beside Yi Hong, taking deep breaths. Each time she inhaled deeply, the dark aura surrounding Yi Hong would thin slightly, only to thicken again soon after, until Yatina drew another breath.

They had reached some kind of balance. Yatina glanced briefly at Xia Yang and gave him a reassuring look.

Although puzzled, Xia Yang was just an ordinary person and could do nothing but watch from the side.

As time passed, the demonic aura radiating from Yi Hong grew stronger, yet Yatina stopped absorbing it and instead flew back to Xia Yang’s side.

“Is the main course finally arriving?” Yatina’s eyes fixed intently on the dark aura that was steadily expanding, her excitement palpable.

“What main course? And what’s really happening to Yi Hong?” Xia Yang asked again.

“She’s awakening. A creature from the demon realm is trying to form a contract with her, aiming to use her to come to Earth,” Yatina explained without looking back.

Xia Yang understood, but Yatina’s next words made the relief he felt moments ago vanish like a mirage.

“Oh dear, it looks like the awakening is going to fail… What a loser,” Yatina said with a slight raise of her brow.

Xia Yang looked toward Yi Hong and indeed saw her trembling more violently.

“What happens if the awakening fails?”

“If it fails, my food won’t arrive.”

“I wasn’t asking about that,” Xia Yang said in disbelief. “I mean, what happens to her personally?”

“To her personally? It’s actually not so bad. If it’s mild, she’ll be unconscious for a few days or act crazy for a bit. If it’s severe, she might go insane permanently. Don’t worry, she won’t die,” Yatina shrugged carelessly, then added, “But if it succeeds…”

Xia Yang swallowed hard.

“What then?”

“Then I get a food mystery box.”

Xia Yang was speechless.

In all these years, he never thought anyone could leave him speechless twice in a single day—until he met Yatina.

Should he call this the power of the Demon Lord herself?

In a certain sense, it was indeed impressive.

He sighed. At this point, was all he could do just pray that the harm to this junior was minimal?

“Is there really no way to help?” Xia Yang persisted.

At that moment, a gleam suddenly flashed in Yatina’s eyes, and she murmured, “It’s finally ready!”

“Who said there’s no way? In this world, there’s nothing this Demon Lord can’t do!”

Yatina’s expression was proud and confident. She wasn’t about to let her nearly obtained meal slip away—this was her last lifeline!

She quickly flew close to Yi Hong. By now, some of the demonic energy Yatina had absorbed earlier had successfully transformed into her own power—her strength was returning!

Not a lot, but enough!

Yatina stretched out her arm and placed her small hand on Yi Hong’s forehead, then poured her magic power into her.

In an instant, the spasms that had wracked Yi Hong’s body stopped, her expression shifting from agony to calm.

Yatina’s hands moved swiftly, and she spoke as she worked. She opened her mouth and inhaled all the black demonic aura in the room at once, drawing it into her belly. Her eyes narrowed in satisfaction, and even her little tail behind her wagged involuntarily.

Earlier, she had restrained herself to maintain contract balance, but now that the contract was sealed, there was no way she would let this demonic energy go to waste.

The dark aura around Yi Hong vanished. Aside from the cold sweat covering her forehead, she now looked like someone in a normal, peaceful sleep. If anything, the only abnormality was that most sane people wouldn’t sleep on the floor.

Xia Yang watched this scene in awe, finally able to breathe a sigh of relief.

Though he had done nothing, he still felt a bit exhausted.

Perhaps it was just a trick of the mind, but Xia Yang really felt tired, so he sat down on the floor as well, leaning his back against the bed, quietly observing everything unfolding before him.

Suddenly, a crisp voice rang abruptly inside Xia Yang’s mind.

[ Ding! Extremely Hungry Demon Lord Breeding System successfully bound! ]

Xia Yang: “???”

“A system?”

His momentary surprise quickly gave way to calm.

In fact, given what had happened this morning, it would have been strange if some sort of system hadn’t appeared!

[ Ding! Congratulations on receiving the newbie gift pack: Basic Identification Eye. ]

[ Ding! Sign-in successful. Rewards are being distributed… ]

Xia Yang: “??”

Had he signed in?

Suddenly, his vision blurred for a moment, then snapped back to normal—with a subtle difference.

When he focused on Yatina hovering in midair, a status screen popped up in his mind.

[ Name: Yatina ]

[ Species: Demon Lord & Succubus Hybrid ]

[ Satiety: One-third full ]

“Is that all I can see?” Xia Yang rubbed his chin. Aside from checking her satiety level, it didn’t seem to serve any practical purpose.

The progress bar for the system’s sign-in rewards was stuck at 99%. Xia Yang sighed silently. So the system was doing this now…

But since it was free, whatever the rewards were, it was a win-win.

“Finally, it’s coming! The main course for this Demon Lord!” Yatina’s excited voice came from beside him.

Xia Yang turned his head to see her expression filled with eager anticipation, saliva already gathering at the corners of her mouth.

He leaned in as well. After all this time, he was curious too—what kind of demon would appear?

His gaze moved past Yatina to rest on Yi Hong lying on the floor.

Just then, the space beside her distorted slightly, gradually forming an invisible spatial vortex. Inside it, a spherical figure began to take shape.

“Pfft—”

A strange sound came first, then the figure fully materialized. Xia Yang finally saw the true form of the demon.

It was about the size of a steamed bun—a pale blue, semi-transparent spherical creature!

Or rather, it looked much like the slime creatures often seen in anime.
