The poster on the door was of Lu Xing. Everyone in this compound knew Qin Yi’s reputation, and Lu Xing was no exception; in fact, Qin Yi was his idol. He had heard that Qin Yi had married a young wife recently. Qin Yi didn’t hold a wedding ceremony; it was just that the new bride had been sent over by the family not long ago.

He never expected that this new bride would be Su Wan.

When he just heard Qin Yi introduce his wife as Su Wan, he thought it was just a coincidence of names. But when he turned his head, he saw the girl he liked, who had now become someone else’s wife.

Stunned, the ladder Lu Xing was standing on wobbled.

With Shen Qingxia’s startled shout, he fell backward heavily to the ground.

Shen Qingxia was so frightened that her voice cracked. She quickly ran over and helped Lu Xing up.

“Son!” she exclaimed.

“Son, son, are you okay?”

Watching Lu Xing lose his composure, Qin Yi, sitting coldly in his wheelchair, narrowed his eyes and remained silent for a long moment.

His suspicion was confirmed — this kid harbored impure intentions toward Su Wan...!

Su Wan was also surprised. When Lu Xing sent her over, he said his home was nearby, but she didn’t take it seriously and had chosen to forget him.

Looking at the person she once liked, Su Wan still felt a pang in her heart, but she was clear-headed.

From the moment Lu Xing showed indifference when she was bullied, she knew that no matter how much she liked him, she had to let him go.

But she hadn’t expected that Lu Xing would be living so close to the Qin family. And Lu Xing’s father even knew Qin Yi.

Suddenly, she recalled why Lin Changchun had warned Qin Yi last night.

Qin Yi asked, “Are you all right, Lu Xing?”

Lu Xing had twisted his waist and was sweating from the pain. Looking up at Qin Yi, his eyes involuntarily flickered toward Su Wan. Forcing a smile, he said, “I’m fine.”

“Lu Xing, young people shouldn’t just study; you need to exercise more, or you’ll become weak,” Qin Yi said earnestly, making it hard to see any sinister intent behind his words.

Lu Xing brushed the dust off his clothes, gritted his teeth, and stood up, his gaze lingering painfully on Su Wan.

There was much gossip about Qin Yi in the compound — the once golden boy, now paralyzed. He seemed to have given up on himself. Since his paralysis, this was the first time Lu Xing had seen him.

He regretted it!

If only on that holiday he had been braver and confessed directly, would Su Wan have become his?

He looked at Su Wan, his voice hoarse.

“Classmate Su, what a coincidence.”

“Hello, Classmate Lu.”

Seeing that they knew each other, Shen Qingxia greeted warmly.

“You two know each other? Come into the house for a visit.”

“No, Aunt Shen, we’re just taking a walk.”

Su Wan politely declined.

Shen Qingxia hadn’t expected Qin Yi’s new wife to know her son; it seemed they were classmates.

She wondered why she had never heard about such a beautiful female classmate of her son before.

Su Wan was a gentle and intellectual beauty, very pretty, and her skin had become even more delicate after some recent care.

Beautiful but not delicate, she simply gave off a comfortable aura.

“Lu Xing, remember to exercise.”

As Su Wan pushed Qin Yi away, he didn’t forget to remind Lu Xing.

“Qin, you too,” Lu Xing retorted defiantly.

Shen Qingxia watched their departing backs and sighed.

“Qin’s new wife is really pleasant to look at, pretty and capable.”

Lu Xing clenched his teeth, staring regretfully at Su Wan’s retreating figure, then reluctantly turned around.

Shen Qingxia glanced at her son’s gaze following Qin Yi’s departure.

“Do you have a grudge against Qin Yi?”

Lu Xing entered the house without looking back.

Shen Qingxia muttered, “They were fine just now, what happened?”

Elsewhere, Su Wan pushed Qin Yi out the gate. He remained silent, as if the person who had just mocked Lu Xing wasn’t him.

Su Wan found it a little amusing.

“You came out just to see Lu Xing make a fool of himself?”

Su Wan was straightforward, and now that she and Qin Yi were husband and wife, she wanted them to get along well. They had no emotional foundation, so she hoped no misunderstandings would create barriers between them.

Qin Yi pulled out a pack of cigarettes, lit one, exhaled a smoke ring, and glanced toward the now empty Lu family gate.

“That kid fell by himself. I didn’t make him fall.”

Qin Yi spoke with conviction, showing no hint of guilt.

If yesterday was just a guess, today he was certain that Lu Xing had impure thoughts about Su Wan.

That brat dared to fancy his woman; he had to teach him a lesson.

Su Wan felt the need to clarify to Qin Yi that she had no special connection with Lu Xing.

“Lu Xing and I are just classmates. You don’t need to worry.”

Qin Yi glanced at Su Wan, sensing she was explaining. He responded somewhat arrogantly, “Hmm.”

Su Wan raised an eyebrow — he was truly devious, a man whose mind was an unfathomable mystery!

“Su Wan.”

Just when she thought Qin Yi wouldn’t speak, he suddenly did.

“What is it?”

“Nothing.”

Suddenly, a thought flashed through Qin Yi’s mind — he wanted to have a child with Su Wan.

He was startled by the idea but, with Su Wan standing behind him, he felt it wasn’t impossible!

Looking at Su Wan again, he found himself unable to look away.

Because of Lu Xing’s matter, the distance between the two had abruptly shortened. The previously courteous relationship suddenly carried something indescribable.

Qin Yi felt the day wasn’t so cold anymore.

On their way back, many people were busy outside the compound. Seeing Su Wan pushing Qin Yi, curiosity about the new bride turned into a crowd gathering to greet them.

Qin Yi smiled and responded to everyone. When asked about Su Wan, he proudly introduced her.

“This is my wife, Su Wan.”

His tone carried a joy even he hadn’t noticed.

The aunts all praised Su Wan. Yang’s leader’s wife was especially fond of her.

“Qin, you’re truly lucky. Look at your new wife — so beautiful.”

Su Wan hadn’t yet adapted to the compliments on her new identity and blushed, lowering her head.

Qin Yi spoke to defuse the situation.

“Aunt Liu, when you and the leader have time, come to our house for a meal. We have something to attend to now, so we’ll take our leave.”

Su Wan greeted everyone and pushed Qin Yi back inside. The flush on her cheeks hadn’t faded. She knew Qin Yi seemed indifferent to everything but had the territorial instinct of a wolf.

Taking her out like this was a declaration of his claim.

Usually, he never went out, but knowing Lu Xing had sent her back, he deliberately let her push him out, parading them around as if to say that.

Su Wan was secretly pleased. Beauty pleases those who love you. Although she didn’t want to rely solely on her looks to be liked, beauty was always an advantage.

It was also the first impression others had of her.

Qin Yi’s behavior stirred a faint flutter in her heart — this man truly regarded her as his woman.

She could sense Lu Xing’s feelings for her. When others said they liked her but she felt nothing, Su Wan thought it was just an exaggeration of her own charm.

This feeling couldn’t be faked. When someone admires you, you can feel it.

Unless you don’t like that person and choose to ignore it as an excuse to refuse.

After returning home and washing up, Su Wan began preparing dumplings, a small thrill stirring inside her as she sensed Qin Yi’s thoughts.

Qin Yi watched her Adam’s apple move as she swallowed and suddenly said,

“Su Wan, let’s have a child.”
