Zhang Tui read a book written by a reader.

A young reader sent me their book, saying it’s hitting the pilot recommendation stage this week. It’s titled "Cold and Aloof Seatmate, Please Behave Yourself!"

It looks like a romance novel (even though it was submitted to the light novel section), but is it really a good idea to ask a "heretical" author like me to promote it? Hahaha.

The author doesn't seem to be very old; you can tell the prose and the story are still quite green, but you can also see how hard they are working and how much they want to tell a good story.

I read the first few chapters. It’s basically about a high school student protagonist who happens to be a popular novelist (a chronic abandoner of stories). The heroine is his wealthy seatmate. It should be a lighthearted high school campus romance; I imagine it’ll be quite healing.

I have a vague memory of seeing a similar premise in some light novel or manga—something about a struggling high school novelist and a class representative who is his number one hater and reader. But this book’s setting is quite different. I hope the author puts their heart into the writing, and I hope they survive the first round of pilot recommendations—I wouldn't want them to end up like me, dying in the first round every single time.
