I have to head to the hospital today for an eye check-up, a lingering issue from my boxing days, so there will be no update at noon. Both scheduled chapters will be released this evening instead.

Of course, there is another reason: I have received some feedback from readers over the past few days stating that the recent plot has been dull and doesn't quite fit the style of the book. As a result, I went back and re-examined the remaining drafts for this volume.

Upon doing so, I realized: what on earth have I been writing?

Thinking back, I started this volume right as the school term began, and I was feeling quite restless. Coincidentally, I also wanted to incorporate some Lovecraftian elements, which are inherently oppressive, and this double dose of frustration led to me writing poorly across the board.

In truth, when I started this volume, I intended to lay some groundwork to build a horrific and grotesque worldview, only to have the protagonist start going wild in this bizarre world once a certain catalyst was triggered.

It is absolutely not the case that I am padding the word count. To capture the right feel for a mystery-themed story, I read several horror novels and watched various Call of Cthulhu actual-play videos, utilizing nearly every horror element I could think of.

However, looking back now, the preceding buildup is indeed a bit long-winded. I intend to revise it thoroughly and add some more engaging plot points. I aim to finish the revisions within the day, as I have less than thirty chapters in my reserve.

I would like to thank the readers who offered their feedback, and I am also grateful for my habit of keeping reserve drafts; otherwise, I would have been stuck heading down a dead-end path.
