Everyone thought it was a good idea.

They all cast hostile glances toward Qu Yi, who was still furiously cursing.

“You…”

“What do you think you’re doing?”

“Do you even know who I am?”

Qu Yi was thoroughly panicked. Retreating step by step, he put on a fierce front but was inwardly trembling as he threatened, “If you dare lay a finger on me, I’ll come out and kill your entire families!”

Even at a moment like this, he was still thinking about wiping out others’ families—that kind of despicable spirit was truly unmatched.

“Is he some kind of clown sent by the monkeys?” Willy muttered in exasperation. “The boss is about to appear, and I had finally built up some tension, but this guy just ruined it all!”

Although Qu Yi’s combat strength far surpassed that of the Seventh Squad, except for Bai Yuxi, everyone else had seen through his nature—cowardly, bullying the weak, and greedy for life. They didn't take him seriously at all.

“Why don’t we just take him out?” Xia Youyou eagerly stepped forward, brandishing two iron spikes with gleaming eyes. “I’ve long disliked him!”

Qu Yi, already frightened by the Seventh Squad’s members pressing in, didn’t hesitate and turned to flee at once.

During this brief delay, several of Qu Yi’s stronger superhuman warriors finally regained their senses, struggling to rise and hobbling to shield Qu Yi behind them.

Having scared Qu Yi away, the Seventh Squad paid him no further mind.

Ignoring Qu Yi’s enraged yelling and kicking at his remaining guards, they refocused on the cave from which the deafening roars continued to erupt—the dangerous superhuman creature inside was about to emerge!

Strangely enough, they had been mocking the situation outside the cave for some time now.

Given that this high-risk superhuman creature had nearly wiped out Qu Yi’s entire squad with a single strike, it was puzzling why it was taking so long to crawl out of the cave.

“Do you think…” Bai Yuxi looked at the narrow cave, roughly three to four meters tall but less than one and a half meters wide. He blinked, hesitated, then said, “Could the boss be stuck inside because it’s too large?”

Everyone was taken aback but quickly caught on.

Judging by the mutant rats they’d encountered earlier, the more severe the mutation, the larger the creature grew. This theory seemed quite plausible.

“I’ll go in and take a look!” Impatient Willy didn’t wait for Captain Lofi to speak and dashed into the cave so swiftly that no one could react in time.

Yet he emerged just as quickly, lingering briefly at the cave’s mouth before leaping out.

At that moment, a sharp roar and the sound of shattering rock echoed from inside the cave.

“Haha! That big rat really is stuck inside!” Willy called out excitedly, waving at Bai Yuxi and the others. “Come quickly! Let’s kill it while it can’t move!”

Hearing this, Bai Yuxi and the others approached with curiosity.

Their illumination devices lit up the pitch-black crevice, revealing the form of the boss trapped within—and it startled them all.

Normally, a rat’s skeletal structure is slender.

Even a gigantic mutant rat resembled a thin sausage dog at first glance.

That’s why rats can squeeze through holes and gaps smaller than their own bodies.

But this mutant rat boss defied all their preconceptions.

None of them had ever seen a rat as massive and robust as an elephant.

Its bulky muscles and thick bones gave it a sinewy, powerful appearance, but this also robbed it of the flexibility smaller rats possessed—explaining why it was stuck.

Furthermore, this mutant rat boss seemed heavily mutated.

Its blood-red eyes glowed ominously, and it sported scythe-like claws and razor-sharp fangs.

Its skull, spine, shoulder blades, ribs, and limb joints were covered with irregular bone spikes and plates that had broken through its skin, exposing jagged bone to the air.

This gave it an exceptionally fierce and terrifying look—more monster than mere creature.

Seeing the bone spikes and plates embedded deeply into the rocky walls, Bai Yuxi and the others finally understood why the boss hadn’t managed to crawl out after all this time.

However, the seemingly solid rock wouldn’t hold it for long.

The cave floor was deeply gouged into a pit by the mutant rat boss’s clawing.

Even the walls pinning it were carved out deeply by its sharp fangs.

Given a little more time, it would likely free itself from this predicament.

Watching chunks of rock crumble like tofu under the mutant rat boss’s claws, Chicken Leg, cautiously holding his shield at the front line, swallowed hard.

He instinctively glanced at his metal-clad square shield, thinking that even with the added protection of a superactive shield, it probably wouldn’t withstand a single swipe from the beast.

He sheepishly stepped back and gestured “after you!” to Xia Youyou, who had mid-to-long-range attack capabilities.

Without hesitation, Xia Youyou tossed out an iron spike.

But everyone watched in disbelief as the spike, infused with X energy, seemed to hit an invisible layer of glue.

It slowed dramatically, barely touching the mutant rat boss’s fur before weakly bouncing aside!

They exchanged glances and all turned their eyes toward Bai Yuxi.

Swallowing nervously, Bai Yuxi cautiously stepped forward, calculating his attack range.

Before he could strike, the enraged mutant rat boss let out a furious howl, lunging suddenly forward and snapping its jaws at Bai Yuxi, who was dangerously close.

The rock walls pinning its bone spikes and plates cracked and shattered with the impact as it surged forward nearly a foot, narrowly missing Bai Yuxi’s body.

Startled, Bai Yuxi retreated several steps.

Instinctively, he swung a punch at the mutant rat boss’s massive head, which was thrashing desperately in an attempt to crush him.

With a muffled thud, Bai Yuxi’s “Nine-Nine Spear” struck.

But the superactive shield enveloping the beast merely shimmered with a flicker of flowing light.

It seemed the spear’s nine-layer penetration power was still insufficient to harm this unknown-level mutant rat boss.

Unwilling to back down, Bai Yuxi moved closer and assumed a horse stance, preparing to throw a punch.

He planned to skip the nine-layer penetration and instead unleash the combined force of nine particle bombardments in a single, powerful strike.
