The purpose was to boost the popularity of these venues and expand the organization’s influence within the supernatural world.

Inside the private room, there was a small washroom. Everyone took turns freshening up and changing into clean clothes, instantly feeling much more comfortable. Although it was just simple basketball jerseys and shorts for the guys, and sports tops with short skirts for the girls, the group—previously dressed in all sorts of eccentric outfits—now looked like a combination basketball team and cheerleading squad.

“Whoa! Xiao Bai! Is this the ‘Dream 7’?”

While they were sorting out their gear, Willy, who was next to Bai Yuxi, suddenly noticed an inconspicuous logo on the computer strapped to his arm and let out a loud exclamation.

“What’s Dream 7?” Bai Yuxi asked, puzzled, as he took out all the equipment he had just managed to stuff into his bag.

“Whoa! That’s a full set of ‘Nightmare Series 7’ rapid-recon armor with high-pressure air propulsion backpack?” Willy’s eyes gleamed as he shouted, “And it even comes with a ‘Multidimensional Information Combat Support Display’?”

“Who did you rob for this stuff?”

“Why would the other side be equipped with such advanced, American military-grade gear?”

Willy’s commotion attracted the rest of the Seventh Squad. After inspecting the equipment, everyone stared at Bai Yuxi in amazement.

“What’s wrong?” Bai Yuxi asked, perplexed. “Is there something wrong with these things?”

“There’s nothing wrong with the gear itself…”

“This kind of armor is officially named ‘Multidimensional Information Digitalized Individual Combat Support Armor’!” Drumstick said in shock. “But the ‘Nightmare Series 7’ individual information terminal is American military equipment!”

“Although it’s an obsolete model from two generations ago and can’t compare with the ‘Nightmare Series 9’ currently in service with the American Supernatural League, it’s far beyond what ordinary people can get their hands on.”

“Even the ‘Nightmare Series 1’ and ‘Series 2’ circulating on the black market are several times more powerful than the domestically produced civilian personal information terminals, like the ‘Silver Eagle’ series commonly used by local supernatural individuals. Not to mention the ‘Nightmare Series 7’!”

Previously, Bai Yuxi had only thought this equipment was advanced, assuming the supernatural world’s technology far surpassed that of ordinary society. He hadn’t expected even supernatural operatives like Luo Fei and her team to be so surprised.

“It seems we may have been mistaken about that ‘Jiang Viper Society’ we told you about, Xiao Bai,” Luo Fei shook her head. “They’re probably not some third-rate gang, but a clandestine supernatural organization with powerful backing.”

Bai Yuxi frowned. “Could this bring us trouble?”

“Probably not. Even if they have strong support, they may not dare provoke us.”

“Our Seventh Squad may not be the most powerful, but at least we’re officially registered under the ‘LDH Supernatural Affairs Management Department’…” Luo Fei thought for a moment, then asked, “Are you sure there were no other Jiang Viper Society members around when you took down that supernormal fighter?”

“There shouldn’t have been,” Bai Yuxi recalled. “Otherwise, would they have just stood by and watched me beat their man to death without stepping in?”

“Then it’s fine. Just don’t use this set of spoils in public from now on.”

“If their people spot it, it’ll be easy to trace back to you,” Luo Fei breathed a sigh of relief. “Once we’re back at headquarters, switch to a ‘Silver Eagle’ for now. Conveniently, we just seized five sets, so there’s no need to spend money on new ones…”

“Could there be any trackers or locators on this?” Bai Yuxi began to worry after hearing Luo Fei’s words. “Should we just bury it somewhere to be safe?”

“No need for that!”

“As supernatural individuals, we all carry powerful biological magnetic fields that interfere with electronic devices.”

“Forget about wireless tracking devices—even wired monitors, or even satellites, can’t locate us,” Luo Fei smiled. “If that weren’t the case, do you think, with modern technology, the authorities would have no way to deal with awakened supernaturals and be forced to cooperate with supernatural organizations?”

“Including humans, all supernatural beings, when infected by X-particles, develop some unknown evolutionary substance within their bodies!”

“This unknown substance has been named ‘Pituitary Protein Peptide Exogenous Hormone’ by researchers—commonly referred to as ‘source matter’, code-named ‘Y’, with the unit nanogram (ng).”

Willy added, “Our physical evolution as supernaturals, along with the ecological mutations of supernatural creatures, are all driven by this ‘source matter’…”

Bai Yuxi: “Then what does ‘LDH’ in ‘LDH Supernatural Affairs Management Department’ stand for?”

Willy: “Uh, I have no idea. It was already called that when I awakened, and I’ve never heard of anyone who knows what LDH means…”

Bai Yuxi: “And the ‘American Supernatural League’—what kind of organization is that?”

Willy: “The ‘American Supernatural League’ is short for the Pan-American Joint Committee for the Supervision, Management, and Handling of Non-Natural Supernatural and Occult Events.”
