Chapter 062: Creating a New Overlimit Combat Technique-4
At this point in time, after all, the entire supernatural world was still in the process of exploration. There was always someone who would have a sudden flash of inspiration and grasp a new way to utilize extraordinary energy. This had nothing to do with seniority—whoever achieved it became the teacher, and there was no shame in that.
But when Willy eagerly rushed over, reaching out with his hairy hands to pat Bai Yuxi on the shoulder, something entirely unexpected happened. Immersed in martial arts practice, Bai Yuxi’s reaction was almost instinctive—a twitch of his shoulder, a faint current of energy surged, and suddenly exploded from his shoulder!
“Teach me! Quick, teach me—whoa—!”
The abrupt energy burst blasted Willy’s hand, which was about to land on Bai Yuxi’s shoulder, sending it flying away as if detonated. The shockwave even spun his entire body around, nearly toppling him to the ground!
Caught off guard, Willy let out a miserable scream, clutching his trembling hand and wailing, “It hurts! It hurts! It hurts!” Even that mere trace of energy had nearly torn the skin from his palm and almost dislocated his finger joints. The agony, as if ten fingers were connected to his heart, made the hapless black foreigner howl uncontrollably. Fortunately, his dark skin made it less obvious, though his palm was swelling and reddening visibly.
Bai Yuxi, interrupted in his practice, was both baffled and annoyed. He had just stumbled upon a technique that felt potentially useful, and was on the verge of a breakthrough. But with this interruption, all his progress was lost, and he could no longer find that elusive state.
He peeled off his data visor, blinked a few times, and took a moment to readjust from 64K ultra-high-definition vision to the naked eye. Looking around blankly, he found all the members of Seventh Squad staring at him as if they’d seen a ghost.
“Uh… what’s going on?” Bai Yuxi, utterly confused, looked at the black foreigner who was wailing and rolling on the floor, clutching his swollen hand. “What’s Willy doing?”
The group was collectively speechless. Did he really not know what he’d just done?
But no one had time to worry about the hapless Willy right now. Before anyone could speak, Jason—wrapped up like a mummy—pushed through the crowd, hurriedly approaching Bai Yuxi and shouting, “Hey! Bai! How did you do that?”
Startled by the sudden appearance of a walking mummy, Bai Yuxi nearly punched him in the face.
Upon closer inspection, he realized this bandaged figure was the foreign lad who’d been with Maya the day before.
“What do you mean, how did I do what?” Bai Yuxi looked in confusion at the crowd gathering around him. He patted his stomach and headed for the bench by the training ground to rest. As he wiped the sweat from his body with a towel, he grabbed a large measuring cup and gulped down the slightly viscous liquid inside.
After downing nearly a liter to rehydrate, he took a deep breath and then seized a tray of pale yellow “clear soap,” swallowing large mouthfuls of it.
“It’s what you just did,” someone pressed.
“Uh… by the way, how did you train your chest to get so big? Does that martial art have this effect?” Xia Youyou squeezed past the less agile Jason, came up to Bai Yuxi, and couldn’t help but reach out and touch his suddenly swollen C-cup chest.
Everyone sweat-dropped. Girl, that’s not the point right now.
“Bai, what are you eating?” Maya’s eyes were drawn to the jelly-like “clear soap” Bai Yuxi was swallowing, and she suddenly felt a bit tempted.
“That’s ‘carbon-based supplement solution’ and ‘bioenergetic nutritional gel.’”
“Because Bai’s cellular turnover is so rapid during training, his metabolism is astonishingly fast!” Su Xiaoke explained as she walked over and removed the sensor stickers from Bai Yuxi’s body. “So he needs massive amounts of nutrients and trace elements—just eating regular food isn’t enough. I mixed up a batch of supplements for him… if you don’t get it, just think of them as the ‘nutritional meals’ athletes use!”
“Although it’s not as effective as ‘bioenergetic nutrient fluid,’ this gel is better suited to Bai’s current physical state…”
“Wait, did Bai get bigger just from eating this?” Xia Youyou’s eyes sparkled as she reached for the last piece on the tray. “I want some! I want some too!”
“Youyou, unless you want to grow a beard, I’d advise you not to eat it…” Su Xiaoke calmly collected the sensor stickers and added, “This nutritional gel is custom-made for Bai, and contains a trace amount of male hormone additives…”
“Pfft!” Xia Youyou nearly choked on the piece she’d already bitten into, shooting the academic goddess a glare. “And it tastes awful! It’s completely flavorless, couldn’t you at least add something? Like corn, or strawberry…”
“Alright, Youyou, stop it. This isn’t a snack.” Luo Fei gently pulled the persistent girl aside, then turned to Bai Yuxi with a serious expression. “Bai, can you explain what just happened earlier?”
“I didn’t do anything special,” Bai Yuxi replied. “I just followed your advice, Senior Luo Fei—learning force application techniques from various martial art schools and blending them into my own fighting style. As for suppressing my own energy, that was because Senior Su was worried I’d damage the training ground, so she reminded me to be careful. Nothing special, really.”
After hearing everyone’s explanations, Bai Yuxi glanced at Willy, who was now being bandaged by the academic goddess, and scratched his head in confusion. “As for this ‘microscopic energy control’ you’re talking about, when practicing martial arts while suppressing my energy, that’s just how it goes, right?”
The others exchanged bewildered glances—so he himself didn’t even know what he’d done?
“But when you attacked, you only released a tiny bit of energy,” Jason insisted. “How did you create an explosive burst several times, even a dozen times, more powerful than that?”
“Uh… I can’t really say,” Bai Yuxi admitted after a pause. “It just happened by chance while practicing the inch-force technique from Wing Chun. I thought that was how it naturally worked.”
“How could it possibly work that way?” Jason, a martial arts fanatic, was nearly driven mad. “I’ve trained in Wing Chun for so long and never encountered an energy blast like yours!”
The others, who had only practiced some basic military lethal techniques and felt their combat skills were sufficient, were not as concerned, but Jason was on the verge of losing his mind.
