Chapter 152: Conclusion
Chapter 152: Little Sister, I Have Come to Pick You Up!
What a timely arrival!
Sensing that surge of mental energy, Mei could not help but raise an eyebrow.
Before she could figure out how to reply, a streak of orange light pierced through the wall, flashing past everyone.
Immediately following a deafening roar, half of the entire factory collapsed instantly, exposing everyone inside to the open air.
"What is that thing?"
As the dust raised by the collapsed wall began to settle, cries of shock rang out.
Surrounding the abandoned factory were towering giant robots standing twenty to thirty meters tall!
Seeing something that had previously only existed in movies now manifesting in reality before their eyes, shock gave way to intense excitement.
Fantastic!
If Country A could manufacture such robots, would world domination still be a question?
Meanwhile, Mo Chen and the others, who were clueless about the situation, rushed to Mei's side at the first instance. Their faces were solemn, and their eyes flashed with concern.
"Don't worry! These things are likely friends rather than foes!" Mei whispered, trying to soothe their tension, seeing their nervous expressions.
"Is that your cheap brother?" Cyril suddenly asked.
"Mm!" Mei nodded.
Hearing this, the others immediately relaxed considerably.
What a fortuitous arrival!
The thought occurred to everyone simultaneously.
"Who are you people? What are you trying to achieve by surrounding us?" While they were whispering amongst themselves, a man clipped a miniature microphone to his collar and shouted questions at the gigantic robots.
He asked three times, yet not a single one of the numerous robots reacted to his words.
Frowning in frustration and thinking for a moment, he turned back to Mei and her companions. "Miss Mei, these things appeared out of nowhere with unknown intentions! What do you say we join forces? As long as you agree, I will hand over your antidote immediately. How about it?"
"Oh? Does that mean you no longer want the energy source?" Mei deliberately reminded him.
"Of course not. You must return the energy source. But we can discuss that later. Right now..."
"No need! I have no intention of returning the energy source to you, so there is no basis for cooperation between us. We might as well settle things now while they haven't made a move. Ready!" With that, Mei picked up her bow once more and took aim first!
Following Mei's actions, Cyril once again summoned a horde of skeleton soldiers, and the others readied themselves for battle.
The moment they moved, the modified humans stationed nearby sprang into action as well, swiftly surrounding Mei and her group.
"What do you want to do to my little sister?" At that moment, a voice echoed through one of the robots. The voice was mechanical and flat, clearly not a normal human voice, but translated through some kind of instrument.
With the sound of the voice, all the robots moved again, pointing all their weapons at the modified humans.
At this point, anyone with half a brain could tell exactly who these abruptly appearing robots were targeting.
*Little sister, let me teach these people a lesson for you!*
Simultaneously, the bracelet transmitted another wave of mental fluctuations.
*No need, I will handle these people myself! You don't need to interfere!*
Mei rejected Galor's kind offer.
"Hmph, do you really think I'd let myself be tricked the exact same way twice?" Accompanied by her sarcastic voice, a white bolt of light pierced straight through the modified human before her, sinking deep into his body.
Looking down at the light arrow planted in his chest, he spat out a mouthful of blood and collapsed limply to the ground. His eyes were filled with confusion, seemingly unable to comprehend why Mei's esper abilities had not vanished.
Meanwhile, Mo Chen and the others unleashed their powers to the fullest, fighting side-by-side with the skeleton soldiers against the modified humans.
In just a brief moment, nothing was left of the opposition except a floor covered in corpses!
The moment the battle concluded, the surrounding robots vanished completely, replaced by twenty men wearing silver-white uniforms. Their appearances closely resembled humans, though each possessed distinct facial features.
The twenty men quickly formed two rows, knelt on one knee facing each other, and respectfully lowered their heads to welcome His Royal Highness the Prince!
Shortly after, a tall man with emerald-green hair and long locks walked swiftly through their midst toward Mei.
At the very first sight of this man, Mei froze, and the others wore expressions of undisguised astonishment.
Not because the man possessed the divine beauty of a god, but because he looked remarkably similar to Mei!
Looking at him, Mo Chen and the others could easily imagine what Mei would look like when she grew up.
Yet, handsome as the man was, it did not cause any confusion regarding his gender. Every gesture of his was not only filled with masculine strength but also carried the elegance of nobility.
"Little sister, I've finally found you!" Galor approached Mei with a face full of joy. However, the moment he clearly saw Mei's appearance, his expression shifted drastically. "Why has your awakening started so quickly?!"
Mei stared blankly at the man's face, completely failing to process what he was saying, nor did she notice that the language he used was Elven—the exact same language from her original world!
Seeing Mei's lack of reaction, Galor assumed she hadn't understood him. He then switched to the language of this world, which had just been implanted into his brain, and asked again, "Little sister, why did your awakening begin so soon? Which bastard did this?"
Listening to the awkward and stiff cadence of his speech, Mei blinked and finally snapped back to her senses.
However, she still did not understand what "awakening" meant. Hesitating for a moment, she could only respond vaguely: "Let's change places and talk about this later. Allow me to finish dealing with the matters here first, alright?"
"Very well!" Hearing this, Galor had to suppress the questions burning in his heart and stood quietly to the side to wait.
"Chen, didn't you want to flatten this place? Do it!" Mei remembered what Mo Chen had said earlier and spoke up.
"Mm!" Mo Chen nodded, then turned to gesture for Ye Jingxuan to join him as they went to plant explosives around the half-collapsed factory.
Mei then turned to Cyril, only to see him flash a reassuring look before turning away to deal with the corpses of the modified humans.
With a wave of his bone staff, those dead modified humans rose one by one like marionettes, gathered together with stiff movements, and bowed respectfully to Cyril.
*Necromancy? Why are Talamans here?* Seeing this scene, Galor could not help but let out a startled gasp.
He probably assumed Mei couldn't understand, but in reality, Mei heard every single word crystal clear.
*Talamans?*
From the sound of it, Talamans could control the dead. Could they be natural necromancers?
If that was the case, she should definitely give Cyril a chance to learn more about them.
With peers of his own kind, perhaps he wouldn't feel quite so lonely anymore.
Mei tucked this thought away in her mind, then pulled out her computer to re-enter Country A's database, extracting all files related to the project and the energy source. After that, she waited for Mo Chen and Ye Jingxuan to return.
"All done?" Mei asked the two of them.
"Mm! More than enough to clean this place off the face of the earth," Mo Chen nodded and said.
"Then let's go!" Hearing this, Mei pressed the delete button on her computer, wiping all the retrieved data clean in an instant. She then stowed the computer away, turned to Galor, and said, "We can leave now! Let's go!"
"You actually speak the Holy Spirit language?" Galor was extremely surprised upon hearing this—so surprised it felt almost unbelievable.
"Are you sure you want to talk about this right here?" Mei turned her head and asked without emotion.
Galor looked at Mei with a complicated expression for a long moment before finally saying, "Follow me!"
With a light tap on his wrist, a virtual screen materialized before him. On the screen, a man with pale green hair wearing the same silver-white uniform and a solemn expression placed his right hand over his chest and bowed respectfully to Galor. "Your Highness, what are your orders?"
"Dispatch a landing craft, we are leaving!"
"Yes, Your Highness!"
The man saluted once more, then turned to issue the command.
"What is that? A communicator?" Mei asked curiously after he finished his contact.
"This is an optical brain. Not only can it communicate, but it also has many auxiliary functions. I know this planet is very backward, so I specially prepared one for you. I'll give it to you once we're back on the spaceship. You can use it to connect to the interstellar network and understand the situation among the various interstellar alliances!" Galor affectionately patted Mei's head as he offered a warm explanation.
*Connect to the interstellar network?*
So its function was basically equivalent to a computer!
Mei formed a rough judgment of the optical brain.
As they spoke, a triangular spaceship roughly the size of four connected buses appeared in mid-air. Immediately after, a pillar of light projected downward from the bottom of the vessel.
"Let's go!" Galor took Mei's hand and led her toward the pillar of light.
Stepping into the beam, Mei experienced a brief flash before her eyes, and when her vision cleared, she was already inside the spaceship.
Galor guided her to a small table and tapped on the surface, causing it to transform into something resembling a large-screen tablet computer.
"Would you like something to drink? Choose whatever you like."
"Can we stay a little longer?" Mei glanced at Mo Chen and the others as they successively entered the spaceship, then spoke.
"Of course! Whenever you decide to leave is fine... Fifi!"
"Fifi?" Mei looked at Galor with confusion.
"Fifi is your name! Your father gave it to you! Do you not like it?" Galor watched the expressionless Mei and asked cautiously.
"It's not about whether I like it or not! I already have a name, and I'm used to it. I have no intention of changing it! You can call me Mei!" Mei's voice was calm, but her tone carried an undeniable firmness.
The name "Mei" was a codename she gave herself after using her Dark Elf innate abilities to kill for the first time, and it gradually became her name over time. Having used it for so many years, she was thoroughly accustomed to it and had no plans to alter it.
"Very well, if you insist!" Galor looked at Mei for a long time before finally nodding. "Can we talk now?"
"Wait a moment longer!" Mei shifted her gaze to Mo Chen, saw him nod, and then watched as he pulled out a remote control and pressed a button.
With a deafening explosion, the spaceship hovering high in the sky shook slightly from the heat wave generated by the blast.
On the ground, as the smoke cleared, nothing remained of what was once an abandoned factory except for a colossal, deep crater.
