Casually transforming the cowboy hat into a card, Ou Xiaolu was surprised to find that it was actually a micro-world card.

[Western World, World Card, Micro, 3/3/0. This is a world of cowboys, pistols, bandits, and corrupt sheriffs. Here, everyone could be your enemy, and the stolen gold will be your final reward.]

Ou Xiaolu only glanced at it before putting the card away. For him, a micro-world was merely a supplement and could no longer influence the overall situation.

Right now, Ou Xiaolu was most concerned about the girl’s situation.

After leaving, the girl had released her aura, seemingly as a hint for Ou Xiaolu to find her.

Using the [Purple Thunder Sky Escape] to shake off the police, Ou Xiaolu followed that aura. Before long, he found the girl, who looked adorable but was actually quite tough, inside a bar that had yet to open for business.

Entering the bar, Ou Xiaolu’s first sight was the lovely girl gulping down a drink. Seeing him enter, she slammed her glass heavily onto the table and beckoned him over.

"Come here and let me take a look, you cute Child of Destiny."

Ou Xiaolu pulled up a chair and sat down in front of her. "What’s your background?"

"A Valkyrie from Asgard; you can call me Belldan. As for this body, you can call her Amelia."

Sensing that there was more to her words, Ou Xiaolu couldn't help but ask, "What do you mean by that?"

"It’s simple. I accidentally transmigrated here—yes, that’s the word. About 22 years ago, I was patrolling Asgard when I was inadvertently sucked into a black hole. By Odin, I never intended to come to the mortal realm, but when I woke up, I had become a baby.

For all these years, I’ve been looking for a way back, but there simply hasn't been one. The first few years were miserable; I couldn't drink, and I couldn't fight. It got a bit better later on—at least I could have a drink, and I managed to summon my weapons, which made life a bit more enjoyable."

Hearing this, Ou Xiaolu realized she must have undergone a soul transmigration, ending up as a newborn, which was the most common form of it. She was quite unlucky, though. As a Valkyrie from a warrior race, being forbidden from drinking or fighting, and likely being raised as a 'lady,' was enough to make anyone despair.

The fact that Belldan had managed to endure 22 years of such a life was truly impressive.

At this point, Belldan stood up, patted Ou Xiaolu on the shoulder, and said, "But it’s better now. Seeing you feels like seeing hope. How about doing me a favor? If you’re willing, I can talk to Amelia and have her marry you."

"Amelia, do you mean this young girl?"

"Yes. I only transmigrated my soul; I didn't consume her own. If it weren't for Amelia these past 22 years, I don't know how I would have survived. You could say Amelia is like a daughter to me."

"And in your daily life?"

"In the first few years, my soul was stronger, so I appeared more often. Now, I only surface when there's a fight. Of course, sometimes I come out just to find some fun. Besides, Amelia needs to train; we can't stay out all the time."

"Fine, no wonder I had the feeling that you were the protagonist," Ou Xiaolu remarked dryly.

"How could I be the protagonist? The true protagonist is you, Child of Destiny."

"And what’s the story behind this 'Child of Destiny'?"

"I don't know, but you just know it when you see one. He is the key to opening an era, though it seems you don't have that key in your hand right now," Belldan said, pointing at Ou Xiaolu’s left hand.

Ou Xiaolu was stunned. He explained the situation regarding his left hand and briefly mentioned the technology of the future.

Belldan was a good listener. While Ou Xiaolu spoke, she simply drank her wine. Finally, she nodded. "I understand what’s going on. Your arm must have been the key to opening a gateway to another realm or somewhere else. The person who took your arm likely had an encounter similar to mine; they knew your arm was the key the moment they saw you. To keep that key in their own hands, they simply took your arm."

"Then why didn't they just finish me off instead of letting me go to New Town and then sending people to hunt me down later?"

"It’s very simple: it’s not that they didn't want to, but that they couldn't."

Ou Xiaolu looked bewildered. Seeing his expression, Belldan reached out and stroked his face. "So cute. I absolutely love it when you make that face."

"Get to the point," Ou Xiaolu said, brushing her hand away.

"We were taught from a young age that when you meet an enemy, you either don't fight, or you finish them off completely. Do you know why?"

"Because enemies favored by fate are the most annoying. Even when they’ve been pushed to the brink, one turn of events will have fate pushing them to an even higher level. That person must have known this. They knew they couldn't let you fall too low, or you would be influenced by fate and your power would rise rapidly. As for why they later sent people to hunt you down, that part I can't figure out. Perhaps they have finally mastered enough power to finish you off."

Belldan’s reasoning made sense, but Ou Xiaolu thought of another possibility. The novice guide had previously mentioned that spiritual energy would recover in two years. Could it be that the person who took his arm had already utilized the power within it, rendering him useless, and thus had sent people to kill him?

The more he thought about it, the more plausible it seemed. He had arrived in New Town only after lying in a hospital bed for six months; that was enough time for someone to accomplish many things.

While Ou Xiaolu was lost in thought, Belldan took another sip of her drink. Setting the glass down, she slammed the table. "Child of Destiny, have you decided? There’s a beautiful girl on the table—a girl who can fight by your side during the day and fight with you at night."

"What do you need me to do?" Ou Xiaolu’s train of thought was interrupted, and he couldn't help but ask.

"Send me back to Asgard—no, just get me to the Bifrost."

"How would I know how to send you back?"

"No, you have the ability. By the way, you’ll need a coordinate. See if this works."

As she spoke, Belldan sliced her left palm and squeezed a drop of blue blood from the wound.

[Bifrost Entrance, World Card, Micro, 3/3/0. This is the entrance to the Bifrost. Entering here will take you to the vicinity of the Asgardian Bifrost. So, don't be fooled by it being a micro-world; behind it lies the entire realm of Asgard.]

[Note: Special coordinate, can only be used once.]
