Chapter 125: Amelia
On the other side, Xiao Lu had no idea about Cheng Ming’s conversation with Jin Guanyu. Returning to the dormitory, he found that Charles—the one Jin Guanyu favored greatly—had once again changed his style.
“Rhino Tiger, what do you think of my new hairstyle? Isn’t it unique?” Charles struck a pose.
Xiao Lu rolled his eyes at Charles’s antics, utterly speechless. What was going on with his hair this time? Charles had picked out seven clusters from his hair and dyed them in rainbow colors, arranging them on top of his head to resemble the Big Dipper constellation.
“My goodness, what on earth were you thinking to make your hair look like this?”
“Looks good, right? My image designer came up with it. At first, I told him I wanted to shave my head and tattoo seven scars on top, but he said having hair or not made no difference—black people couldn’t really tell, and scars wouldn’t show clearly. So, he suggested dyeing it instead.”
Xiao Lu was used to Charles’s nonsense but this time even he felt it was too much. “Go fix your hair back to normal. If I keep looking at that, I’m going to have the urge to set it on fire.”
“No way, Rhino Tiger. I read a lot about this. All martial artists do this. It’s like in the Kung Fu temple, Shao Dian Shu—every man there has six scars on his head.”
“Shao Dian Shu? What on earth is that?” Xiao Lu was momentarily confused.
“You know, from that ad, ‘Shao Dian Shu, Shao Dian Shu, so many heroes admire you.’”
Xiao Lu broke out in a sweat, wondering where Charles picked up all this stuff and how he’d learned it so well.
“I think you should give up on martial arts and stick to technology.”
“No way, Rhino Tiger. You saw how pathetic the Vice Chairman of the Holy Blood Council was that day. If I rely on technology, how long will it take to become a superhero?”
“If you want to be a superhero, martial arts is the least realistic path. Look at superheroes in movies—they’re either tech-savvy or mutants. Which one got there just by hard work? Even the shield guy had to inject himself with some enhancement stuff, right?”
“That’s true. You’re right, Rhino Tiger. But no matter how much you enhance yourself, you still need fighting skills. Rhino Tiger, teach me that move with the sharks. I’ve loved sharks since I was a kid—I even feed them sometimes.”
Xiao Lu gave Charles a sideways glance. You didn’t feed your brain to the sharks, did you?
Just then, Mig, who had been quietly standing aside, suddenly chimed in, “He’s African. Betting on mutation luck is a losing gamble.”
“What did you say? Are you looking for trouble?”
As Charles shouted back, Xiao Lu suddenly received a signal from Arrow. It seemed he had finished exploring the micro-world and was preparing to return.
The reason for sending the signal was to prepare Xiao Lu to pull them directly into the current world. Otherwise, any girls brought in would be forcibly transformed into cards—that would be a disaster.
Hearing this, Xiao Lu was a bit surprised. He hadn’t expected the game system to have so many intricate details.
Glancing at Charles and Mig, who were about to come to blows, Xiao Lu waved at them. “Stop arguing. I have some work to do; can you keep it down?”
Charles patted his chest. “I’m the most obedient—I’ll do whatever you say, Rhino Tiger.”
Mig rolled his eyes at Charles, watching Xiao Lu’s actions with curiosity.
Xiao Lu pointed to the ground. Slowly, Arrow’s figure changed from a shadowy outline into a solid form. After this Rainbow Bridge exploration, Xiao Lu noticed some changes in Arrow. Originally a great white tiger with glaring eyes and a white forehead, his skin now showed obvious alterations—an eerie dark energy seemed to flow beneath his fur.
Upon seeing Xiao Lu, Arrow grinned proudly and winked, as if to say, “I’ve grown stronger again.”
Xiao Lu had no time to indulge him—the operation wasn’t over yet. After Arrow appeared, a white light surged beside him, swirling with snowflakes and the aurora.
Finally, a girl about one and a half meters tall emerged from the light. She had an incredible figure, black hair, sharp features, and a pair of striking eyes. Apart from her head, she looked like a Hollywood starlet.
In one hand, she held an ice-like round shield; in the other, a spear shimmering with aurora colors. She wore a black T-shirt and jeans, revealing a cute waist and snow-white feet, making Charles and Mig drool uncontrollably.
The girl glanced around. Upon seeing Xiao Lu, a faint smile broke through her serious expression. “Oh, you’re back.”
“Yes, welcome home. Should I call you Emilia now?”
“Yes, yes! Does this mean I don’t have to train anymore?” The girl exclaimed excitedly. “Can I have pretty clothes? Wearing jeans every day is so uncomfortable.”
“Whatever you’re used to. But can you put away the spear and shield first? Did Beludan leave those for you?”
Emilia transformed the spear into a hairpin and tucked it behind her hair, then changed the round shield into a bracelet worn on her left wrist. “Yes, Mom even blessed them, said they’d suit me better. Hey, Xiao Lu, can I not go back? My room’s too small. I want to live in your valley—I like it there.”
“In a couple of days, that place will become a construction site. Once the valley’s built, I’ll save a villa for you. How about that?”
“Great! It’s a deal. I’m following you from now on.” Emilia beamed like a child who’d just gotten a new toy, hardly resembling a woman in her twenties.
At this moment, Mig suddenly said, “Now I finally understand why a clueless guy like Charles is so desperate to follow you. Hey Xiao Lu, are you still taking disciples? I’m white, so my tattoos are clear. I don’t have to dye my hair like the black guy.”
Charles immediately got angry. “Mig, this is my Rhino Tiger.”
“He’s not interested in you,” Mig retorted with a dismissive glance.
“I’ve fought bravely, killed enemies, served my country—wait, that’s the wrong line. I live for you, die for you—no, that’s not right either…” Charles felt his lines were off and grew anxious. He rummaged through his bag and pulled out a notebook, flipping through it.
Xiao Lu leaned over and saw it was filled with quotes from various anime and movies, noting which lines to use and when.
For Charles’s eagerness to learn, Xiao Lu could only shake his head helplessly. “Suit yourself. I have work to do.”
With that, Xiao Lu opened the world interface and began reviewing the gains from this micro-world exploration.
