A group of people chattered and laughed as they passed through the campus main thoroughfare. Ou Xiaolu and Charles, with Luo in tow, had circled a small half-loop before turning toward the dormitories.

As for Charles, he had already laid out the entire situation regarding that film in clear detail—from what he had seen on the news, what he heard from Cameron, and the various bits of information he had gathered.

According to Charles, the conflict was between the investors and the director. Yet Ou Xiaolu perceived it differently. He was accustomed to encountering major problems wherever he went, so his thoughts naturally drifted further.

They had barely reached the dormitories when Ou Xiaolu spotted a police car parked below from a distance.

He was puzzled, wondering what crime had been committed in the dormitories to warrant the arrival of a police vehicle.

Before Ou Xiaolu and his companions could entertain the idea of going up to watch the spectacle, two officers disembarked from the patrol car—one male, one female.

He wasn't sure whether the Lighthouse Country's patrol officers were always paired in male and female combinations.

They approached. The man placed his hand on his holstered weapon, while the woman stepped forward and inquired, "Are you Ou Xiaolu?"

"Yes, but I hope your colleague will put his gun away." Ou Xiaolu glanced toward the male officer with his hand on the weapon. "Otherwise, I will have my lawyer sue him."

"It's all right. He was only a bit tense seeing the tiger and wasn't targeting you. We've come to ask you a question. Three days ago, were you at the movie set and rescued a director?"

"Three days ago? Yes. Is there a problem?"

"Then it's you. Please come with us. Someone has filed a complaint accusing you of practicing medicine without a license, and that is a grave offense in the Lighthouse Country."

"Which station? May I call my lawyer?" Ou Xiaolu glanced at the Luo beside him. "Also, can my pet accompany us? You saw for yourself that this large creature is left alone at the school, which always invites unwelcome thoughts."

The two officers looked at Luo baring its teeth at them, then at their own patrol car, unsure what to say. In the end, they abandoned the notion of placing Ou Xiaolu in the back and instead allowed Ou Xiaolu to drive with Luo following closely behind their vehicle.

Upon reaching the nearby station, the lawyer from the duo without names had also arrived. Upon seeing Ou Xiaolu alight from the car, he greeted him while complaining about the incidents in the Shuxi Campus, noting that they should have been handled at the campus station, making their presence here appear irregular.

To the lawyer's words, the two officers could only offer awkward explanations: they had received a report from a nearby movie investment firm and were thus tasked with locating Ou Xiaolu. As the company fell within their jurisdiction, it was not considered a violation.

At this juncture, the lawyer showcased his professional prowess, dissecting the officers' actions point by point, highlighting discrepancies here and there.

Ou Xiaolu found himself unable to watch further. He interjected, "Counselor, I summoned you here not to defend my innocence but to request your assistance with another matter."

The officers were taken aback. The male officer blurted out, "What matter? Is there anything more serious than practicing medicine without a license?"

"Malicious prosecution," Ou Xiaolu declared confidently. "I possess a medical license. See for yourself. With this, I cannot be accused of practicing medicine without a license. A physician, when confronted with a dilemma, must take the initiative to step forward and save the individual, is that not correct?"

"Thus, I did nothing wrong, nor did the police. There must be someone who erred. Otherwise, why would an officer not investigate at all but accuse me of practicing medicine without a license?"

The lawyer accepted the medical license Ou Xiaolu presented, examining it thoroughly before consulting his phone to verify the registration number.

"This is legitimate. My client holds medical qualifications, rendering the claim of malicious prosecution valid. We shall now discuss this further."

Thereafter, Ou Xiaolu had no further role. He sipped the police station's coffee with casual ease and even pocketed the sweet donuts from the front desk officer.

The policemen in the station displayed an expression of suppressed fury, while the female officer Ou Xiaolu had brought stood with hands on her hips before him, seemingly intent on intimidating him into retreat with a glare.

However, this female officer's skills were not to be underestimated. Though Western women often suffer from overly large pores, her three-dimensional facial features lent her an eye-catching allure.

More importantly, as a patrol officer, her physique was robust and her figure commendable, such that her uniform appeared on the verge of bursting.

After glaring for several minutes, Ou Xiaolu set down his coffee cup. "Say, can you stop staring at me like that?"

"I won't. I'm furious. You can flaunt your medical license on campus yet follow us here. Are you mocking us?"

"Of course not. I merely wish to learn from you who is slandering me. You see, I arrived in Xinxiang only a few days ago; I shouldn't have provoked any major figure. Besides, if I hadn't acted this way, would you have told me who framed me? You wouldn't, so I merely made you uncomfortable. In the end, I won't trouble you, so why the intense stare?"

For some reason, when addressing this female officer, Ou Xiaolu's demeanor shifted somewhat toward that of Charles.

As he continued, the female officer's expression darkened progressively. Finally, she slammed the table. "Enough!"

Ou Xiaolu promptly fell silent, and the nearby officers watched quietly.

The female officer offered an embarrassed smile, then glared once more.

Ou Xiaolu lowered his head, cowering without the usual defiant air from other worlds.

Observing Ou Xiaolu's submissive posture, the female officer softened. She realized the incident wasn't Ou Xialu's fault; rather, the officers had overstepped.

Yet seeing the lawyer gesturing and stirring trouble, her anger reignited. She pondered briefly, fetched a cup of coffee, and placed it firmly before Ou Xiaolu.

"This time, we erred, but don't expect an apology. At most, I'll tell you who filed the report."

"Oh, was it the investor who backed that film? I'll tell you in secret: the director was poisoned, and the perpetrator hasn't been identified yet. Now the investor has come forward to slander the doctor. If they prevail, they'll overturn my analysis, turning poisoning into food poisoning for the director. The connections here are clear if you think about it."

The female officer, following Ou Xiaolu's reasoning, found her own thoughts derailed. Finally, she nodded affirmatively and declared with a shared grudge, "I agree. Rest assured, I won't let any villain escape."
