“All right, take care of the child for me. I’ll handle the Qi family myself.” A glint of icy coldness flashed in Feng Xu’s eyes; these people had already crossed his bottom line.

“Daddy? Are you really my daddy?” Tears shimmered in Feng Xiaoxiao’s eyes as he slowly raised his head to gaze at this tall, warm figure.

“Yes, it’s me. I’m sorry, sweetheart.” Feng Xu’s heart gave a slight jolt, and tears welled up in his eyes. Under the barrage of insults and attacks from the crowd, not once had he let his tears fall. Yet, it was this simple question from Feng Xiaoxiao that brought him such overwhelming guilt he could not hold back his tears.

A man rarely sheds tears, but only when truly heartbroken.

“It’s all right, darling. Come to Auntie. I’ve bought some things for you.” Li Yunan picked up Feng Xiaoxiao, her heart seething with anger. The little girl’s dress was tattered in several places, dust clinging to her small body, and a faint sour smell rising from her. Her crystal-clear eyes still gleamed with innocence, though her soft face bore smudges of dirt. Were she washed clean, she would be a child as pure as jade, lovely and innocent.

“To think those beasts could treat even a child with such cruelty!” Li Yunan was filled with indignation. No matter how dissatisfied they were with Feng Xu, at the very least they should have retained a shred of humanity and not vented their anger so mercilessly on a child.

A chill glinted in Feng Xu’s eyes as he strode toward the Qi family’s entourage, his gaze sweeping over them.

“Well, well, well, look who it is. I didn’t expect it to be you—the traitor!” The steward, Tang Shan, sneered coldly.

“Traitor, traitor—have you any idea who you’re dealing with?” Li Yunan gritted her teeth. Wherever Feng Xu went, he was met with hostility; in their eyes, he was one of Ye Country’s men. For someone who had made such great contributions, this was nothing short of unjust.

A cold smile curled at the corner of Feng Xu’s lips as he flicked his arm.

“I have nothing left to say to the Qi family. Since you’ve chosen to oppose me and dared to torment my daughter, then every one of you must kneel at my father’s grave and beg forgiveness. And as you treated my daughter, so will I repay you—blood for blood.”

His voice was resolute, tinged with barely suppressed rage. At this moment, he refrained from killing—showing immense restraint. If Ye Country caught wind of him resorting to violence, suspicion would surely arise. So, the time had come to teach these people a hard lesson.

“Oh, you really think you can do as you please? Can’t you see my men have already surrounded you?” A glint of frost flickered in Tang Shan’s eyes as he clapped his hands twice.

A thunderous crash resounded as the main doors swung open, and a towering figure, easily two meters tall, stepped forward. His bulging muscles were like slabs of granite, and with each step, the ground seemed to tremble.

“Tang Shan, you’re sending me to deal with this brat? Isn’t that a bit much? Even if he did mess with the young master, it hardly seems worth my while.” An icy voice rumbled from the giant. His glare was piercing, and a jagged scar marred his gleaming bald head.

“This man dared lay hands on the young master—that’s a declaration of war against the Qi family. As for sending you, it’s simply so you can serve the family. Don’t argue. I want him to see his own bones snapped.” Tang Shan sneered chillingly. Since Feng Xu had dared come to the Qi family’s main estate, he would find no shortage of formidable opponents. The man now standing behind him had been expelled from a renowned martial family—there were few rivals for him in this region, perhaps even the entire city. Calling Du Yousheng to the scene was only to be expected.

“Hmph!” Du Yousheng snorted coldly.

“So, you’re the one who disturbed my sleep. And you, a traitor, dare show your face and try to reclaim your daughter?” he said, flipping a knife from his belt.

“I have no desire to dirty my hands with the likes of you. Cut off your own arm—down to the bone—and I’ll let you live.” He looked at Feng Xu with a relaxed air, a frosty smile curling his lips.

The half-meter fruit knife landed with a thud on the ground. Feng Xu made no move to pick it up.

“It seems you lot are beyond remorse. I thought of sparing you, thinking you were mere servants, but clearly you’ve chosen to side with evil too often.” Feng Xu gritted his teeth. He had not wished to harm the innocent, but seeing Tang Shan and Du Yousheng working in tandem—trying to force him to sever his own arm—he realized these two had committed their share of wickedness.

“My, my—you dare talk like that in front of me? I’ll just have to break your bones myself! Whether you live or die is up to fate.” Du Yousheng exhaled a frosty breath, clenched his fists, and his eyes shone with murderous intent.

“Very well. But you should be saying those words to yourself.” A cold smile flickered from the corner of Feng Xu’s mouth. Du Yousheng had issued a death sentence, and with his bulging muscles and imposing presence, he was clearly a master of external martial arts—not an opponent to take lightly.

“Kill!” Du Yousheng’s massive figure, though towering at two meters, moved with unexpected agility. His footsteps made no sound as he charged forward, his speed rivaling that of a top athlete. In a flash, he was upon Feng Xu.

“Feng Xu, be careful!” Li Yunan cried out. Her experienced eyes could tell this was a true expert, and she tensed, uncertain whether the renowned scientist Feng Xu possessed the means to defend himself.

“Don’t worry, sis. I have a feeling our brother-in-law’s combat skills surpass mine.” Li Feihu smirked with a hint of pride, having just returned after escorting someone back and now eager to watch the spectacle unfold.

“If you say another word, you’ll be the one I deal with next.”
