Chapter 130: The War of Women
After dinner, both young women were a little tipsy, while Tim and Qiu Fengyu remained sober. No matter the situation, one of them had to keep a clear head.
The tipsy women became somewhat uninhibited, even walking to the backyard with arms linked, singing loudly at the snowy landscape. Tim chuckled, returned to the living room, and pressed a button on the remote. Instantly, colorful lights sparkled in the night sky, reflecting off the snow and causing the two girls to shriek with delight.
The girls loved this atmosphere. Rae raised her hands, swaying her waist in the snow to the rhythm of the lights, shouting at Tim, "Music, music! I want music!"
Music? Qiu Fengyu chuckled. How could that be? He hadn't prepared anything like that... Then he watched with his mouth agape, speechless, as Tim quickly hauled out a sound system from his room. Though he didn't know if it was a high-end brand, it looked incredibly impressive.
"Party on, ladies!" As Tim pressed a button, a wave of sound hit them. The high-tempo disco beat made the girls' spirits soar, and, buoyed by a touch of intoxication, they twisted their bodies amidst the brilliant lights.
Tim cheered and joined in. Qiu Fengyu stood back and watched. It wasn't that he couldn't dance, but for now, he just wanted to watch the three of them. They could be wild, but there had to be one person who stayed sober.
"Hey, come over here!" Rae gestured to Qiu Fengyu with her finger. "Don't just stand there; you should join us. This is a Christmas party!"
Qiu Fengyu shook his head with a smile, arms crossed, leaning against the doorway as he watched them.
Qiu Fengyu’s house certainly had the most dazzling lights in all of Abilene, standing out vividly against the night sky. Combined with the faint thrum of music, it eventually attracted some curious onlookers. The first was Davis, who clearly couldn't suppress his curiosity.
"Hey, Boss... Oh my god, Rae Rassett! God, you’re actually spending Christmas here. This... this is insane, I can't believe it..." For Davis, the biggest surprise wasn't the lights or the music, but a superstar like Rae Rassett.
"Davis... you're Davis, I remember you. Come on over, join the dance, it feels really good... We're having a Christmas party!" Rae waved at Davis, opening her arms wide.
Good God, Rae was about to hug him! Davis was thrilled and stepped forward with open arms. Suddenly, he was grabbed by his collar and yanked back. A voice whispered a warning in his ear: "Just a handshake."
Davis turned to see Qiu Fengyu's cold face and shivered. He quickly said, "I know, a handshake... yes, a handshake. I'm not that close with her; why would I hug her?" He reached out and shook hands with Rae.
"Haha... I knew it!" Rae laughed, then wagged a finger at Qiu Fengyu. She swayed step by step, twisting her waist in front of him, and rested a hand on his shoulder, exhaling near his ear, "Do you like me?"
"What do you think?" Qiu Fengyu also smiled. "You really have had a bit too much to drink."
"Is that so?" Rae lightly brushed her hand across Qiu Fengyu’s face before laughing and returning to the dance.
The second group to be attracted was Ryoko Yonekura and her younger sister, the little girl Minami Yonekura. As the two beauties arrived, the little girl cheered and joined the wild crowd, waving her chubby little hands in a practiced manner; the little girl loved to perform, just like when she sang last time.
"Hey, I know you!" As soon as Ryoko entered, April approached her and said, "You're the Japanese woman who stole my room?"
Ryoko glanced at her coldly, her posture condescending. "So what if I am?"
"You should apologize to me, and then say thank you!"
"You're crazy!" Ryoko dismissed her words with disdain and walked toward Qiu Fengyu.
"Hey, don't walk away, let's get this straight!" Having had a few drinks, April was still annoyed about the room, so, fueled by the alcohol, she reached out to grab Ryoko.
*Thud!* Suddenly, April went flying and landed in the grass, covered in snow. She scrambled up, looking disheveled. The moment she reached out, Ryoko had used a major hip throw to floor her. Ryoko had shown restraint, so it wasn't a serious injury, but it was certainly humiliating.
"Oh, damn it." April wasn't one to back down, and she suddenly grabbed Ryoko by the hair. Ryoko didn't dare throw her again, but she couldn't use excessive force either. Enduring the pain, she grabbed April's hair in return and cursed, "Bitch, you dare pull my hair?"
"Pah!" April spat in Ryoko's face, and Ryoko spat back. The two women became a tangled mess, falling onto the grass and tearing at each other.
"My god, hey... Qiu, do something!" Rae stood by, helpless. The two women were locked together, cursing as they fought.
Qiu Fengyu crossed his arms and looked at Rae. "No, nobody can separate them now. Sorry, Rae, if you can, why don't you try? When women go crazy, it's not something a man can talk them out of."
"To hell with that, you’re just standing by and watching... Tim, you have to do something..." Rae was very dissatisfied with Qiu Fengyu and turned to shout at Tim, who was watching the spectacle nearby.
"I'm still a child!" Tim spread his hands at Rae. "You can't count on me..." He grinned as he watched the two women fight.
"Dammit, hey... April, can't you just let go?" Rae had no choice but to yell at April.
"If this bitch doesn't let go, I won't either!" April was tough, gritting her teeth as she spoke.
"Shut your filthy mouth, you stupid woman!" Ryoko didn't hold back either.
Qiu Fengyu watched the catfight with interest, then turned to look at little Minami Yonekura, who had stopped moving. The little girl was actually smiling and watching, seeming not the least bit worried. The kid had nerves of steel.
"Davis..." Rae placed her only hope in Davis. Her pleading look was almost impossible for him to refuse. He couldn't help but lick his lips and try to approach the two women.
"Listen, ladies, this isn't something ladies should be doing. I'll count to three, and you both let go, okay?" Davis pressed his hands downward. "Alright... since you're not saying anything, I'll take that as a yes. One... two..."
"Shut up and get lost!" Ryoko and April shouted at him in unison.
Davis made a sour face and shrugged helplessly at Rae. Rae turned her gaze back to Qiu Fengyu, sounding almost indignant. "Damn it, can't you think of something?"
Qiu Fengyu smiled at her and said, "Actually, there's someone who's the best at breaking up fights; you have to find her. It's useless to ask me. You know, if I had to choose between facing an angry woman and an angry bull, I’d choose the bull, Rae." He gestured toward Minami Yonekura.
Rae slapped her forehead and walked over to Minami. "Is there any way? To make them stop?" she asked the little girl tentatively.
The little girl looked at her without saying a word.
"Alright, if you can get them to separate, I can give you lots of yummy treats! Or fun things, a Barbie doll, how about that?" Rae tempted her.
"I want to sing!"
"Of course you can, we can sing in a little while." Rae nodded immediately.
Perhaps the little girl couldn't understand the first sentence, but she understood the English word "yes," as she could handle basic conversation by now.
"Think of something!" Rae looked at the little girl full of hope.
The little girl didn't speak; instead, her mouth puckered, and she suddenly burst into loud, wailing tears without warning. As soon as she cried, Ryoko immediately pried April's hands off, kicked her away, flipped up from the ground, and headed toward the little girl. April, who had also crawled up, muttered, "Don't think I'm afraid of you." She then walked over to Minami.
The two began speaking in Japanese. No one else could understand, but clearly, after their exchange, Ryoko had no intention of bothering April anymore. If they were to really fight, April would be no match for her.
The war between the two women ended. Though neither was willing to admit defeat, at least the spectacle was over. Tim looked disappointed, winking at Qiu Fengyu. Qiu Fengyu pretended not to see and turned into the living room. After the farce, nothing felt fun anymore.
Ryoko led the little girl away without saying goodbye to Qiu Fengyu. April, still fuming, walked into the living room and sat on the sofa, angry. Rae followed her in; as her best friend, she had to soothe April's mood. Even though the lights were still flashing outside and the music was playing, no one was in the mood to party anymore.
"Turn off that damn music," Qiu Fengyu said to Tim.
Davis walked in and said to Rae, "Sorry, Ms. Rassett, I couldn't help."
"It's not your fault, you're a good person, at least I can say that!" She purposefully looked toward Qiu Fengyu, still clearly dissatisfied.
Qiu Fengyu ignored her and went outside to watch Tim clean up the troublesome equipment. Seeing Qiu Fengyu come out, Tim chuckled, "Women are sometimes crazier than men."
"Who’s to say they aren't!" Qiu Fengyu nodded with deep feeling. "What a crazy Christmas—a big dinner, dancing, and a women's fight. It was certainly an eye-opener. Christmas... heh, I like this Christmas, haha!"
