Chapter 110: Is the Ancestral Grave Really Smoking?
Tu Zhe began exploring the Fairy Star Nebula. After searching around, he indeed found a planet far superior to the desolate star, though it wasn't as large but was relatively stable. The downside was that this planet was hidden among many non-stellar nooks and crannies, making sunlight scarce and casting a grayish haze over the entire sky.
However, places with little sunlight aren’t necessarily bad. After all, wandering celestial beings and powerful immortals probably wouldn’t bother noticing such an uninhabitable world. Since it lay within the domain of the Fairy faction, quietly settling there without drawing attention was the prudent choice.
Thus, Tu Zhe decided to settle Chu Tiange and the bandits on this planet first. After all, he still had to go to the Northern Polar Three Enclosures and couldn’t always bring Chu Tiange’s group along.
This planet did possess some spiritual veins. As Tu Zhe approached, he opened his divine sense to scan the desolate star, discovering mountains, rivers, forests, and vegetation on the surface. Though not lush, it was likely enough to produce sufficient oxygen.
Beneath the surface, primitive spiritual veins lay hidden. Their quality was modest—the best being holy-grade celestial ores—but enough to meet the cultivation needs of the bandits.
Most importantly, the planet harbored life forms, albeit low-level. Even the weak, elderly, women, and children who did not cultivate needed to eat. After all, everyone, whether in heaven or on earth, must have their fill.
Not everyone possessed the celestial treasures of Mount Sumeru that could automatically produce heavenly incense and wine. Moreover, these bandits were not human.
So, Tu Zhe landed and strolled across the barren planet, looking for a suitable place to settle.
Due to the relative scarcity of spiritual energy, the planet lacked massive beasts; the largest animals were about the size of Earth’s elephants in his previous life.
From the sky, he spotted the largest river on the planet and decided to establish the settlement on a vast plain by this river basin.
No sufficient food? Then why not grow crops?
The river Tu Zhe chose seemed to flow vigorously, with a relatively abundant water supply.
To the south of the river rose rolling mountains. Between the mountains and the river stretched wide plains. “This is the place,” Tu Zhe decided.
“What shall we name them?”
A river, a mountain range, and a plain without names seemed ridiculous.
Too lazy to think hard, Tu Zhe simply named the river the Yangtze, the mountains the Hundred Thousand Mountains, and the plain the Yangtze Delta.
Whether the plain was truly triangular didn’t matter at all.
Having settled the land, Tu Zhe released the time rewind spell, returning time to normal. With a wave of his divine sense, a large group of people and spacecraft appeared on the plain in a flurry.
The dog immediately leapt forward, sobbing so violently that his eyes and nose seemed to melt away, crying, “Brother Rogue, I can’t bear this anymore! Humans become blood, dogs become minced meat—it’s too cruel, wuwuwu…”
Tu Zhe hugged the dog, gently stroking its little head and comforting it nonstop.
Little Lei Lei and the Three Devil Maidens gathered around Tu Zhe, while various Demon Dragon Kings stepped forward, flanking him on both sides.
At that moment, Chu Tiange led the Three Star Lords and the remaining dozens of cave leaders and thirty-some divine kings forward to kneel before Tu Zhe, calling him their benefactor, their savior—the great savior of the desolate star people.
Suddenly, the gathered desolate star people poured out of their spacecraft en masse and knelt down, startling Tu Zhe.
Was this entire vast plain filled with kneeling people? A dark sea stretching beyond sight?
Shouts of praise and sobbing echoed throughout the desolate star.
Tu Zhe hurried forward to help Chu Tiange and the others up, looking at the countless desolate star people on the ground and feeling a shiver run down his spine. “Brother Chu, should we not deify ourselves? This... this might shorten my lifespan instead.”
Chu Tiange said, “Brother, do you think the desolate star people kneel for nothing?” Then he strode to a nearby high ground, raised his hand, and the people instantly quieted, all eyes fixed on their star lord.
Chu Tiange’s voice rang out across every corner of the desolate star.
“Fellow elders, brothers and sisters, desolate star people—
Since we gathered on the Heavenly Stable Desolate Star, we have lived countless years. The massacre we faced this time was beyond our power to resist. If not for our young celestial brother Tu Zhe’s intervention, you all know the outcome: not a single mouse would remain on our desolate star.
But heaven did not forsake us, sending the great savior Tu Zhe, allowing us to cling to life and preserve our existence.
As star lord, may I represent everyone in honoring young celestial brother Tu Zhe as our sovereign? That is to say, I, Chu Tiange, shall be Tu Zhe’s loyal subordinate forever—this is my choice.
Desolate star people, tell me your choice—”
After a brief silence, the desolate star people roared in unison:
“Sovereign! Sovereign! Sovereign! Sovereign! Sovereign!”
“Just like that, sovereign already? Can I still be star lord for two more days?”
Tu Zhe secretly felt a bit envious.
“Damn, my ancestors were all farmers. When have our ancestral graves ever smoked?”
Master of a planet? Shouldn’t one feel a bit proud?
But the butcher hadn’t yet convinced himself he deserved it. Instead, he hurriedly showed humility and nervousness, grabbing Chu Tiange’s arm and saying, “Brother, you can’t do this, right? I’d just be a squatter, a cuckoo in another’s nest. We decent folks don’t do things like this, okay?”
On the surface, he feigned modesty, but inwardly thought, “Brother, please keep your word. I’m just being polite, don’t take it seriously!”
Chu Tiange, not as scheming, loudly asked:
“If the young celestial brother doesn’t agree, what shall we do?”
The desolate star people shouted together:
“Kneel! Kneel! Kneel! Kneel! Kneel!”
Chu Tiange tightly grasped Tu Zhe’s hand, raising it high, tears welling in his eyes.
“Brother, you know the hardships of our desolate star people. Being star lord brings no benefits, only burdens. I admit my strength and intellect can’t match yours, but for the sake of our people’s suffering, please accept it?”
“Pfft! What kind of talk is that? Who said ‘I’ll accept’? If I accept you, what does that make me? I have no words with you rough folks.”
Still, the butcher liked Chu Tiange’s reasoning—it wasn’t about personal gain but taking on a burden. He found that quite agreeable.
Thus, amid the eager endorsements of the desolate star people, the reluctantly feigned Tu Zhe finally agreed to their request.
Immediately, the desolate star erupted with thunderous cheers that lasted without end.
After all, nearly fifty million people remained. Their jubilation was more fulfilling than Chairman Mao waving his hat on some city tower, calling for someone to stand up.
The dog was even more excited, showering Brother Rogue’s face with countless kisses.
Celestial sovereign and star lord—how could they compare?
Mount Sumeru’s sovereigns numbered in the hundreds, but the problem was having the title without territory.
Look at Brother Rogue here, instantly claiming a vast planet with so many subjects. That feeling? Simply exhilarating.
Standing atop the high ground, Tu Zhe’s heart surged.
Wanting to be star lord and actually becoming one—what a world of difference.
As he marveled, his thoughts drifted to Earth in his previous life.
Had the ancestral grave of the old Tu family truly ever smoked?
