Chapter 131: Tu Erdan’s Invisibility Technique
Chapter 131: Tu Erdan’s Invisibility Technique
At this moment, Lodi and Luojia suddenly began to act very strangely. With their hands on their hips and their foreheads nearly touching, they started to cross their eyes at each other. Tu Zhe stared at the sisters, wondering what kind of affliction this was.
As it turned out, while Gogo and the Orange Baby were busy calculating their ages, these two had quietly started a squabble. They found the Orange Baby so adorable that they were absolutely smitten. Lodi had whispered to Luojia that she intended to make the Orange Baby her godson. Luojia immediately objected, demanding to know why it should be Lodi and not her—she wanted a son, too. And so, they began their cross-eyed standoff, which grew more intense and louder until they were arguing incessantly.
Tu Zhe felt a headache coming on. What was going on here? Why were they fighting over who gets to be the mother of his son?
After arguing back and forth, the Orange Baby impatiently interrupted: "Little ladies, what are you fussing about? Is this even an issue? Just play rock-paper-scissors, right? Whoever wins becomes my mommy, deal?"
Lodi and Luojia didn't hesitate; they immediately started the game. After three rounds, the Orange Baby belonged to Lodi. The Enchantress of Joy was overjoyed. She snatched the Orange Baby from Gogo’s arms, showering him with endless kisses, and begged, "Son, hurry and call me Mommy!"
The Orange Baby rolled his eyes and said, "Sure, sure, but what's in it for me?" He held out a chubby little hand, signaling for Lodi to pay up.
Lodi immediately reached into her bodice and pulled out a pitch-black bead, handing it to the Orange Baby. He took one look and refused to take it, saying, "What is that? It’s all dark and gloomy, and it doesn't even look good."
Luojia gasped in shock, exclaiming, "Lodi, you really are... that is your Original Demonic Bead..."
What was an Original Demonic Bead? It was a core essence bead that began to gestate when a Celestial Demon reached the Arhat realm. It was equivalent to the solidified Primordial Spirit of a Taoist at the Divine Transformation stage. It was, quite literally, a Celestial Demon's second life. And Lodi was just going to give it to the Orange Baby?
Seeing Luojia’s alarm, Lodi glared at her. "What are you chirping about? This is my son; what could I possibly be reluctant to give? Right, son?"
The Orange Baby stared at Lodi for a long time before sending the Demonic Bead back into her dantian. He then called out solemnly, "Mommy."
Lodi’s actions clearly moved Tu Zhe deeply. Damn, she was willing to give up her own life essence bead. Even though she was a Celestial Demon, this kind of sentiment was something many who claimed to be human might not be capable of.
"This godmother..." Tu Zhe thought, "If the son accepts it, then so be it."
Beside them, Gogo was moved to tears. "I won't say anything about the godmother, but why haven't you called me Auntie?" As she spoke, she began to unhook the black bell hanging around her neck to give to the Orange Baby.
The Orange Baby hugged Gogo and called out "Auntie" several times. "Auntie, does that even need to be officially recognized? You’re already my auntie, hehe..."
Gogo insisted, "But Auntie has to give you something, right? You don't think I'm stingy, do you?"
Because the Orange Baby possessed all of Tu Zhe’s memories, he naturally knew what Gogo was. How could he take her bell? The dog and the baby began a tug-of-war. Tu Zhe stepped in to separate them, saying, "Enough, we have serious matters to attend to."
Once the noise died down, Tu Zhe looked at the Gourd Baby and said, "You aren't the only son anymore. You have a younger brother now, so you need to act like an older brother, you understand?"
The Gourd Baby puffed out his little chest and said proudly, "Whatever Daddy says, goes, hehe!"
He didn't seem unhappy about the Orange Baby being the second-born, but he glared at him and waved his little fist, implying, "So what if you're the second? The second is just here to get beaten up; I'll show you what's coming, hmph!"
Tu Zhe continued, "Since the second one is called Orange Baby, the first-born Gourd Baby should also change his name to Red Baby. Any objections?"
The Orange Baby chimed in, "He shouldn't be called Red Baby; he should be called Tu Erdan, hehe..."
The Red Baby wrinkled his nose and said, "Tu Erdan, you’d better watch yourself!"
Great, another fight was about to break out. Tu Zhe waved his hand to silence them and turned to the Orange Baby. "I need to understand something. Before you struck Tang Youyou, where were you hiding?"
The Orange Baby replied, "Tch, Little Daddy, you’re so ignorant. Was that hiding? That was an invisibility technique, understand?"
What? An invisibility technique? How was that even possible? Everyone turned their eyes toward the Orange Baby, waiting for an explanation. It was a joke; in the Three Realms and all the heavens, one usually had to be at least at the True Monarch level to master an invisibility technique. Even ordinary Heavenly Venerates weren't necessarily capable of such a feat.
This was because only those at the True Monarch level or above could understand the laws of space to such a high degree—the realm where Heaven and Man become one. Only a True Monarch could truly glimpse the reality of the world, allowing them to integrate with it so that the rules of nature would not exclude them. But even then, not every True Monarch could perform invisibility.
An invisibility technique required one to not only align their physical existence with the laws of the Great Dao but also to synchronize the movement of their divine consciousness with the frequency of those laws. Only then could one truly achieve invisibility, including the concealment of their consciousness. If a true invisibility technique reached a high enough level, even the fluctuations of one's divine consciousness would go undetected.
Could this Orange Baby, who had just been born, already possess such ability? It didn't seem very "scientific."
Seeing everyone staring at him with wide eyes, the Orange Baby grew impatient. "I have nothing to say to a bunch of Taoist-illiterates like you. My level of power was gained by absorbing the strength of nearly a hundred worlds. Any of you have that kind of talent? Levels, oh levels... I'm almost embarrassed for you."
Everyone looked at each other and then shifted their gaze toward the Red Baby. The Red Baby was currently enjoying the softness of Trish’s bosom. Seeing everyone staring, he mumbled, "What are you looking at? Never seen such a handsome baby before? Stunned, aren't you?"
Tu Zhe coughed and asked, "What about you, eldest? How much world energy have you absorbed?"
The Red Baby bit his index finger and rolled his eyes for a long time. "Maybe around two hundred or so? Is that strange?" He glanced sideways at the Orange Baby, implying, "Don't think that just because we fight, I'm not letting you win, you know."
Wow. The second-born had absorbed over a hundred worlds of energy; the first-born had absorbed two hundred. How were others supposed to live? Among this group of people and dogs, even with God Kings and Great Emperors, Tu Zhe himself had only absorbed about a hundred worlds of energy, and ninety percent of that was absorbed by the mysterious seed in his Alaya Consciousness. His own physical body had absorbed less than ten.
The problem was that these two were Primordial Spirits. Did the Primordial Spirit's appetite and absorption capacity far exceed that of a human body? There was no precedent to go by. Tu Zhe wasn't too shocked, however. There were already so many strange things happening to him that his nerves could handle a little more.
Tu Zhe asked, "Alright, Second-born, tell your daddy, where did you learn this invisibility technique?"
