Volume One, Chapter Eighty-Four: Instant Kill After Instant Kill
Chapter 84: Instant Annihilation
The great demon, Dragon King Tie Tou Laizha, exhaled a breath as vast as an ocean, his draconic aura unfurling like a great banner, his entire being surging with vital blood, thundering with power. He stood proudly, hands clasped behind his back, eyes blazing with anger, facing Tu Zhe head-on, eager to witness Tu Zhe’s Mo Na Blade.
Tu Zhe smiled lazily, suddenly letting out an idle sigh. “You’ve been hiding up there in the sky for quite some time now. Won’t you come out? If not, I’ll have to use you as practice for my blade!”
Hm?
Tie Tou Laizha was momentarily stunned. Who was he talking to?
To me? Damn it, I’m standing right in front of you!
Could it be that the old emperor has some hidden trump card?
After Tu Zhe finished speaking, he waited quietly for a moment.
The void remained utterly still.
Tu Zhe shook his head in exasperation. “Son, go cut them down one by one. If they refuse to appreciate kindness, your old man can’t be bothered to deal with them.”
Son?
Tu Zhe has a son?
While Tie Tou Laizha and the countless celestial hosts were still bewildered, a golden infant wrapped in a scarlet bellyband suddenly shot forth from the center of Tu Zhe’s brow.
A collective gasp echoed from the myriad celestials, thunder rolling across all six heavens of the Desire Realm.
The infant, no larger than a fist, giggled gleefully, gripping a tiny grey blade scarcely an inch long, bare and plump as he waved it about in the air, calling out in a childish voice, “Just watch, Dad, heehee...”
Tie Tou Laizha froze, then froze again. Having dwelled in the Emperor’s realm for at least ten thousand years, he had seen wonders beyond count. Yet he knew instantly what this infant bursting forth from Tu Zhe’s brow was—a Nascent Spirit.
A Nascent Spirit—how had he cultivated one?
Lotus Leaf—
Mara, too, was astonished. “Kid, can you surprise me any further? Fellow celestials, what are we witnessing? That’s a Nascent Spirit. Something we, followers of the Buddhist heavens, cannot cultivate.”
Everyone knew: the Buddhists cultivate virtue, the Daoists cultivate destiny.
Only Daoists from the Northern Polar Heavens, who cultivate destiny, can refine a Nascent Spirit. Only those Daoists who achieve the Nascent Spirit can undergo the tribulation of the heavens. We, who cultivate virtue, have never experienced a heavenly tribulation upon rising in rank.
What’s strange is, Tu Zhe has cultivated a Nascent Spirit, but no heavenly tribulation occurred. This is an unprecedented phenomenon, worthy of our attention and study.
Could it be that Tu Zhe has inadvertently stepped into the realm of dual cultivation of virtue and destiny?
We may speculate, but for now, let us focus on what wonders this extraordinary Nascent Spirit will bring—
The shock brought by Tu Zhe’s Nascent Spirit wiped the faint smile off the face of Emperor Shakra, who had been feigning calm moments before.
Tu Zhe’s emergence and sudden rise were like a divine weapon falling from the sky, striking him so unexpectedly that he had no time to react. He almost regretted ever having tried to fathom this little rascal. But what use is regret now?
The old emperor could not help but cast a fierce glare at Hu Lu Zhi Na, who stood near the great Dragon Elephant King of Illupotana, now dumbfounded to the point of idiocy.
Damn it, could anyone be more useless than you?
Master Maitreya of Tushita and the Lord of Delightful Heaven, Chou Falun, immediately scanned the infant above the Great Saltwater Sea with their divine senses, their minds racing through countless calculations.
Within Mara’s Imperial City, the Heavenly Concubine of Joy’s starry eyes sparkled with excitement. Old Rahu, mouth agape, forgot even to drink.
Damn, a Nascent Spirit has appeared?
At this moment, Tie Tou Laizha’s face was as dark as water.
The appearance of Tu Zhe’s Nascent Spirit made him, for the first time, feel a powerful sense of crisis.
He watched the infant warily, not missing a single move.
At this moment, the Gourd Baby pointed his blade to the sky, crying out in a milky voice:
“Yiya—!”
A surge of Buddhist energy roared through his body, pouring into the Mo Na Blade. Suddenly, the blade in the Gourd Baby’s hand grew longer and larger, stretching over a thousand yojanas.
The tiny hands wielded the blade with ease, and in a flash, the Mo Na Blade flickered in and out of sight, stabbing through the thousand-yojana expanse of void millions of times in an instant.
Wherever the blade passed, space ruptured, black holes flickered, and fierce winds howled. From the shattered rifts in space, fragments of bodies tumbled down.
Heads fell, necks still spurting blood;
Arms dropped, the severed ends gleaming white;
Torsos crashed down, entrails scattering across the sky;
Thighs splashed into the sea, raising towering waves;
Weapons tumbled down, already reduced to shattered iron;
...
All the myriad celestials saw was a flicker of the Mo Na Blade in the Gourd Baby’s hand, and then the sky rained countless severed limbs and broken bodies.
Even with their vast experience, it was clear to all that these remains belonged to the Flying Yaksha clan.
From the tumbling fragments, dozens of Yaksha bodies had been disassembled by the Gourd Baby.
These Yakshas had hidden themselves in the void, escaping even Mara’s notice—clearly they were no ordinary beings.
Ambush and assassination—this was the signature style of the “Chimei Yuan” Yaksha assassin group.
Dozens of Flying Yakshas, each at least in the Great Sage realm, were instantly slaughtered by the Gourd Baby.
What did that mean?
It meant that this unremarkable little child possessed means that could shake even those at the Emperor's level.
As for the Mo Na Blade, though it could grow or shrink, appear or vanish, there didn’t seem to be anything else exceptional about it.
Yet, the Yaksha assassins hidden in the void were wiped out without a chance to react.
Lotus Leaf—
Fellow celestials, we marvel to witness a Nascent Spirit of such diminutive size unleash a might beyond our wildest imagination.
Dozens of concealed assassins, dozens of beings able to manipulate space itself—none had time to tear open space to escape, not even to muster a sliver of resistance, before they were instantly annihilated.
What an astonishing feat—
Instant annihilation, what a thrilling technique;
Instant annihilation...
I am truly curious—can this little infant instantly slay the mighty Dragon King Tie Tou Laizha as well?
Tell me, is it possible—
The myriad celestials shouted in unison:
“Instant annihilation! Instant annihilation! Instant annihilation—!”
Above the Great Saltwater Sea, Tie Tou Laizha watched the last severed limb tumble into the water. He pondered: if that blade had targeted him, could he have withstood it?
He believed he could.
After all, the chasm between the Emperor’s realm and that of the Great Sage was immeasurable.
Thus, his confidence swelled, and with a cold laugh he said, “Is that all your technique amounts to?”
Tu Zhe ignored him, simply catching the Gourd Baby as he leapt into his arms, giving him a couple of hearty bites. “Well done! What reward do you want?”
The Gourd Baby’s bright eyes spun, and his lips moved. In Tu Zhe’s mind, he heard the child’s voice.
It turned out the Gourd Baby had discovered the Brahma Egg wrapped within the Amara Consciousness and wanted to eat it.
Tsk—
Never seen anyone greedier than you. You’ve got quite the appetite, but that Brahma Egg contains the power of a mid-tier world. Are you sure you won’t choke or burst?
The Gourd Baby pouted, as if to say, “So stingy!” and replied, then forget it, just give me a few Supreme Divine Crystals to snack on.
Huh?
Are you sure it isn’t just one?
A few?
As... snacks?
The Gourd Baby, growing impatient, simply reached into Tu Zhe’s spatial ring and grabbed a handful of Supreme Divine Brahma Crystals, tossing them into his mouth and crunching away until they were gone.
Tu Zhe could only roll his eyes.
Did he really just eat them as if they were beans?
