The pioneers sought to find a complete cure for the Kara virus by studying the Sea Emperor.

Following the passage inside the Sea Emperor prison, Qin Fei walked all the way to the innermost part of the facility.

At the far end was an immense chamber containing a square pool over two hundred meters wide and long.

As Qin Fei entered, a colossal creature emerged from the water.

Its size even surpassed the sea dragons outside the prison. Standing before it, Qin Fei appeared minuscule and insignificant.

This had to be the largest creature in the entire game—the Sea Emperor Leviathan.

After surfacing, Qin Fei subtly stepped back a few paces, positioning himself near the entrance.

From here, he could retreat at any moment and swiftly move beyond the Sea Emperor’s attack range.

The sea dragon and Sea Emperor shared some physical traits.

Both had several tentacles at their tails, each stretching twenty to thirty meters.

Though Qin Fei stood outside the water, the Sea Emperor could still use its tail tentacles to drag him into the pool if it wished.

Once the Sea Emperor surfaced, it turned its head toward Qin Fei, who stood alert near the entrance.

“Child, come closer. I have something to tell you.”

It did not speak aloud.

The Sea Emperor communicated not through sound but by directly transmitting its thoughts into Qin Fei’s mind via brainwaves.

Qin Fei was not surprised to find he could converse with the creature.

He offered a gentle, forced smile and said, “No need to come closer. Speak plainly—I can hear you.”

The Sea Emperor then recounted the entire story.

Its words closely mirrored what it had said to the protagonist in the game’s storyline.

The so-called “Pioneers,” alien beings, had discovered that the Sea Emperor was immune to the Kara virus, so they captured and confined it in this laboratory.

Their aim was to research and develop a cure.

Naturally, the Sea Emperor resented being imprisoned by force and had refused to communicate with the Pioneers throughout.

The reason the Sea Emperor could cure the Kara virus was that during reproduction, it secreted a special “incubation enzyme.”

This enzyme was the key substance needed to heal the Kara virus.

Coincidentally, the Sea Emperor was about to give birth.

It told Qin Fei that if he could free it from this prison so it could safely deliver its offspring,

then it would secrete the incubation enzyme, curing Qin Fei and all life in the ocean completely.

After hearing this, Qin Fei regarded the Sea Emperor thoughtfully and asked, “Alright, what must I do?”

The Sea Emperor extended its tentacles from the water, pointing toward an operation console by the poolside.

“See this terminal? Use your scanner to unlock it, and I will be free.”

A moment later, the Sea Emperor seemed to recall something else and added, “Also, the sea dragon outside—you must deal with it with your stasis gun. I cannot defeat it.”

“You can’t fight the sea dragon outside?”

“No, I cannot.”

Qin Fei nodded. “Alright, I’ll give it a try.”

To avoid being ambushed by the Sea Emperor while operating the console, Qin Fei instructed it to submerge to the bottom of the pool.

The Sea Emperor complied silently, sinking beneath the water.

With the Sea Emperor submerged, Qin Fei activated the scanning function of his Tech Helmet and approached the terminal.

Thanks to the scanning mode, even with the Sea Emperor at the pool bottom, Qin Fei could clearly monitor its movements.

If the Sea Emperor tried to ambush him, it would have to swim to the surface first—buying Qin Fei an extra one or two seconds.

This gave him enough time to escape if attacked.

Qin Fei scanned the terminal.

Since the Sea Emperor was a native species of planet 4546B, it lacked the authority to operate the console.

Qin Fei, as a human from Earth, was an outsider and thus had the necessary permissions.

Following the scanner’s instructions, Qin Fei operated the console, fully opening the prison walls confining the Sea Emperor.

Instantly, a massive opening appeared in the pool wall, and seawater flooded into the prison.

The Sea Emperor was completely freed.

The water steadily engulfed the prison...

At the same time, Qin Fei, relying on the speed granted by his Tech Leg Armor, dashed out of the prison and re-entered the Sea Shrimp.

The Sea Emperor’s size was staggering.

As soon as it swam outside the prison, a sea dragon Leviathan patrolling nearby detected it and swam toward it.

“Use the stasis gun to immobilize it!” the Sea Emperor’s anxious voice echoed in Qin Fei’s mind.

But Qin Fei, piloting the Sea Emperor mech, quietly hid in a corner of the lava cave.

The entire Sea Shrimp mech was only about four or five meters tall—insignificant compared to the Sea Emperor.

Thus, when both Qin Fei and the Sea Emperor left the prison, the sea dragon focused not on Qin Fei but on the far more conspicuous Sea Emperor.

“What are you doing? Come help!” the Sea Emperor urged again.

Hearing its desperation, Qin Fei piloted the Sea Shrimp farther away.

At that moment, the sea dragon rammed the Sea Emperor fiercely.

The sea dragon seemed naturally dominant over the Sea Emperor, slamming the creature—more than twice its size—against the lava cave wall.

The Sea Emperor panicked completely.

It looked toward Qin Fei hiding in the cave corner, pleading, “If you don’t help me, the entire ocean’s virus will never be cured!”

The fate of the ocean is none of my concern!

Hidden in the shadows, Qin Fei ignored the Sea Emperor’s appeals.

He watched intently as the sea dragon attacked the Sea Emperor, ensuring it would be killed without incident.

Qin Fei acted this way because he suspected the Sea Emperor had been deceiving him all along.

He had long suspected the so-called Sea Emperor Leviathan might actually be the “Father of the Sharks Leviathan” mentioned in the main quest.

There were too many inconsistencies.

First was the name of the building imprisoning the Sea Emperor.

According to Qin Fei’s scanner translation, it was called “Sea Emperor Prison,” not the “laboratory” as the creature had claimed.
