Although the temperature at the summit of the snowy mountain wasn’t as outrageously low as inside the icy cavern, it was still considerably cold. Qin Fei and his companions had already donned thick winter clothing. They sat quietly beneath the Blue Ark, waiting for the countdown to teleportation to end.

During this idle period, each of them carefully inspected their gear and supplies to ensure nothing would go awry once battle commenced.

A roar echoed from afar.

Qin Fei rose to his feet. The sound resembled that of a large carnivorous dinosaur. In the world of the Ark, only the Feathered Raptor and the Tyrant Lizard could produce such thunderous cries. Yet Tyrant Lizards rarely ventured into the snow. Thus, Qin Fei surmised this must be a Feathered Raptor, a frequent presence atop the snowy peaks.

The Feathered Raptor was a large carnivore, though among its peers, it wasn’t particularly formidable. Against it, Qin Fei alone—with the aid of equipment from his backpack—could easily prevail. Still, he decided to investigate. If the raptor attacked them near the end of the teleportation countdown, it would be troublesome.

The Ark’s terminal had a limited teleportation range. Should anyone be forced out of that range due to the raptor’s interference, complications would arise. To prevent the teleportation from being disrupted, Qin Fei grasped his shotgun and strode toward the source of the roar.

He did not ask the others to follow. For the enhanced Qin Fei, dealing with a Feathered Raptor was hardly a challenge. He meant to kill or drive it away, eliminating the threat in advance.

Another roar resounded, louder than before—evidence that Qin Fei was drawing closer.

Suddenly, the ground began to tremble.

A sense of foreboding seized Qin Fei.

Not far away, a giant dinosaur appeared, bearing the shape of a Tyrant Lizard but far larger, many times its size.

It dwarfed any carnivorous dinosaur Qin Fei had ever seen.

If his guess was correct, this was the land-dwelling overlord of the island—the Southern Titan.

Abbreviated as Titan, in the age of dinosaurs it was sizeable, but not nearly as enormous as it appeared in the Ark. Here, its bulk was at least twice that of its real-world counterpart, and its strength magnified countless times.

Clouds often shrouded the peaks of the Ark’s mountains, reducing visibility. This was why Qin Fei had not noticed the Titan at first. When he did, they were already close.

Compared to the Titan, Qin Fei was minuscule—not even a mouthful. But meat is meat, however small, and the Titan rushed toward him as soon as it caught sight.

Qin Fei’s reflexes were swifter. Before the Titan could charge, Qin Fei turned and fled, drawing from his pack the Teleportation Wand.

[Teleportation Wand: Randomly teleports the target to a location within one kilometer. Uses remaining: 5/5. Restrictions: Cannot be used in caves, air, or ocean.]

This was neither cave, sky, nor sea—so the wand could be used freely.

Gripping the wand, Qin Fei felt little panic. If he couldn’t escape the Titan immediately, he would simply teleport it elsewhere.

The Titan’s speed was formidable. Even with his enhanced body, Qin Fei couldn’t outrun it for long. In seconds, the Titan caught up and lunged, jaws wide.

Qin Fei’s hair stood on end. With his enhanced senses, danger felt acute. Reflexively, he leaped from the spot. Mist billowed beneath his feet, allowing him to jump again in midair.

In a fraction of a second, Qin Fei executed a double jump, narrowly dodging the Titan’s attack. This maneuver was thanks to the item hanging at his waist: Bottle of Clouds.

[Bottle of Clouds: Harnesses the mystical power of clouds, enabling you to jump twice in succession while airborne. The second jump is half as high as the first.]

Soaring into the air, Qin Fei unfurled his glider and flew toward the base of the mountain.

Seeing Qin Fei escape by air, the Titan gave chase, but it could not fly. Rushing ahead, its feet slipped; it tumbled down the mountainside.

The Titan rolled downward, falling from the summit—dozens of meters—until it crashed heavily onto the ground. It lay motionless, either unconscious or dead.

Its tumble was not due to stupidity, but because it had focused all its attention on Qin Fei and failed to notice the terrain below. Carelessness happens to everyone; such mistakes are not uncommon.

Qin Fei, using his glider, traced a perfect arc through the air and landed midway up the mountain.

Once steady, he retrieved his compound crossbow and grappling hook, firing into the cliff above. With the bottle’s double jump and the hook set in the summit, he quickly climbed back to the top.

By now, the countdown on the Blue Ark’s terminal had dwindled to about thirty minutes.

A massive semicircular teleportation array began to form around the terminal, its range encompassing everyone present.

At last, the final moment arrived.

A flash of white light enveloped the surroundings. In the next instant, Qin Fei and his companions found themselves inside a dark, damp cave.

Here, the temperature was milder than atop the snowy peak.

Upon entering, they shed their heavy winter clothes and donned combat armor.

According to their prearranged tactics, the four gathered immediately upon entering the Broodmother Spider’s lair.

Qin Fei activated his Stone Mastery skill.

Within seconds, several stone walls materialized, encircling the group for defense.

With their position secured, Qin Fei surveyed their surroundings.

The cave resembled the toxic gas mine where the immunity artifact had been stored.

Dimly lit, it was shrouded in darkness.

Above, countless dinosaur corpses hung suspended by spider silk, their bodies swarmed by spiders the size of fists.

The scene was unsettling.

Moreover, the cave was many times larger than any Qin Fei had encountered in the game.
