Wisteria Manor was a scene of fierce and relentless battle.

The Golden Spiral Organization’s main assault force consisted mostly of skilled operatives ranked B and A, each attack posing a grave threat.

These experts excelled in coordination, seasoned in combat, and had meticulously planned their assault strategy on the manor.

Psi-ringers and brute-type superhumans led the charge, braving volleys of bullets that tore through the air, pressing forward with unyielding force. Behind them, combatants with long-range capabilities swiftly slaughtered the security troops.

The Saint Flame Society’s security force was undoubtedly an elite unit, well-trained and battle-hardened, equipped with top-tier gear.

Yet, all of that proved fragile against superhumans and psi-ringers. A powerful superhuman could send a security officer flying with a mere flick of the wrist, acting with brazen arrogance.

Their only effective weapons were rocket launchers and heavy machine guns, but the gunners were often singled out and killed the moment they exposed themselves.

In a short span, nearly half of the nearly hundred-member security force had fallen. Their black uniforms were stained red with blood, bodies scattered haphazardly across the flowerbeds.

Ordinary humans were simply too fragile on this extraordinary battlefield, relegated to supporting roles at best.

Fortunately, within Wisteria Manor emerged psi-ringers from the Saint Flame Society. They wielded supernatural powers or summoned extraordinary creatures, instantly engaging the surging Golden Spiral operatives in brutal melee.

Beneath the pitch-black night:

A roar shattered the silence.

A fierce tiger stomped the ground, its two menacing fangs gleaming ominously under the moonlight. Bullets pelted its body but were repelled by a tough membrane that shielded it. Spent shells clinked against the earth.

With a powerful leap, the four-meter-long beast’s claws slashed downward, rending open a man’s chest.

A torrent of blood gushed forth.

Bullets rattled fiercely nearby.

With a brutal swipe, the massive tiger’s paw slammed a security officer’s head straight into his own chest cavity.

Suddenly, a shadow plunged from above.

The tiger darted aside as the ground beneath it cracked and splintered, stones flying in all directions.

A colossal meteor hammer landed amidst the dust.

Its head was the size of a human torso, covered in dense, sharp spikes, faint traces of blood staining its surface. Torn scraps of cloth hung from it.

As the dust settled, a nearly three-meter-tall giant stood like a towering iron pillar in the crater’s center. Bare-chested, his muscles bulged like hewn rocks.

His powerful arms were as thick as a child’s torso.

“Demon Tiger Parson, truly ferocious! Ha ha ha…” The newcomer laughed oddly, his face thick with coarse flesh twisted into a sickly grin. His eyes bulged unnaturally, a faint red glow covering his eye membranes.

“Kill!” The giant swung the terrifying meteor hammer.

Like a tank, he charged forward across the ground.

A red streak wove through the air.

The fierce tiger crouched low, propelled like a cannonball. Its massive claws shot forward with a thunderous smack.

The collision compressed the air violently.

Dust swirled away in concentric waves.

Man and beast were locked in an ultimate, relentless struggle.

Meanwhile, amid the chaotic melee between the Golden Spiral Organization and the Saint Flame Society, there were similar battle rings inaccessible to outsiders, where elite warriors clashed desperately.

They were the most formidable fighters on both sides.

****************

“Are they here yet?”

In the shadows of a building, Mandorla pressed her black earpiece, eyes warily scanning the street outside.

“Not yet…”

Clear and crisp, Bai Ye’s voice came through the team channel. As the sniper, she had the widest view from the rooftop, able to see far into the distance.

“Wait! They’re here!”

From the rooftop corner, Bai Ye called out, her petite frame pressed to the ground, chest acting as a cushion, black sniper rifle poised on her shoulder.

Through the scope, hundreds of meters away, a convoy of black vehicles sped toward them. Though lacking any obvious Saint Flame Society markings, Bai Ye recognized them immediately.

“All units prepare! Be cautious when they arrive!”

On the rooftop, Bai Ye and Qiu Lin responded in unison.

Bai Ye adjusted her rifle’s angle slightly.

Her superhuman vision allowed her to seize fleeting moments of opportunity, holding her breath and squeezing the trigger swiftly.

Bang!

A slender sniper bullet tore from the barrel, carving a transparent cavity through the air.

Ting! A hole appeared in the car window.

Cracks radiated outward from the impact.

A spray of blood splattered on the glass, dripping down. The man behind the wheel slumped forward onto the steering wheel, lifeless.

Thud! The speeding car lost control, swaying wildly, teetering on the brink of flipping.

The Saint Flame Society member in the passenger seat reached out frantically, shifting position and struggling to regain control.

Bang! Bang!

Two sharp shots echoed in the air.

The passenger’s head exploded instantly; his ring power light shield could not withstand these special bullets!

With a rumble, the vehicle flipped onto its side, violently shaking in all directions. Another sniper bullet struck, igniting the fuel tank.

Flames exploded fiercely, a shockwave soaring upward.

Screams echoed from inside the burning car, but ultimately only a charred, barely recognizable figure rolled away, escaping.

The wreckage blocked the center of the road.

The trailing convoy slammed on brakes, coming to a halt.

****************

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Agile shadows burst from the car doors; some rolled behind buildings, using abilities and firearms to cover their comrades.

Others charged boldly, like leaping cheetahs. They dashed at incredible speed through corners and shadows, becoming streaks of black fury.

“All personnel, attention! Stop them!”

A deep voice, commanding and authoritative, reverberated through all the earpieces.

“Yes!” echoed repeatedly.

Bang! From the rooftop, Bai Ye fired again.

A figure racing through shadows suddenly collapsed, a pool of blood slowly spreading from their head.

“Another one down…” Bai Ye remained calm.

She shifted slightly, adjusting her angle.

Just as she prepared to shoot, a volley of bullets came flying from nearby darkness! The Saint Flame Society’s attempt to break through the Golden Spiral’s defenses naturally targeted the sniper first. Bai Ye had been targeted since the battle began!

Whizz! Whizz! Whizz! Whizz! Whizz! Whizz!

Over a dozen bullets streaked toward her.

“Not good!”

A surge of danger rose in Bai Ye’s chest. Quick to react, she instinctively tried to roll away.

But the bullets were faster.

Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!

She was hit! Her beautiful almond-shaped eyes widened.

A wave of fear of death surged within her.

“Hm? It doesn’t even hurt much…”

Bai Ye looked down. Her combat suit had several large bullet holes in the chest area. Three bullets dropped out, revealing the soft, milky-white layer beneath.

A faint blue light membrane shimmered over her skin.

“Damn! I forgot about the pendant!”

Relief flooded her heart. She had barely had time to adapt to the transformation pendant and was still relying on previous combat experience.

It was understandable to momentarily forget after being shot.

“Bai Ye!” Qiu Lin called anxiously nearby.

“I’m fine! The bullets were perfectly stopped by the light membrane…”

Bai Ye rubbed her chest where three red dots marked the soft flesh beneath. The pendant’s protective light shield was excellent, easily stopping ordinary assault rifle rounds—like having a sturdy turtle shell.

They exchanged a glance and nodded in mutual confidence for the upcoming interception.

At the same time, three figures dashed from the building’s shadows. Mandorla led the two sisters, Black Side and Red Side, charging toward the source of gunfire.

They flashed down the wide street.

Whizz! Whizz! Whizz!

A stream of bullets came flying.

They instinctively dodged, but Mandorla, leading the charge, was grazed by a bullet. The sharp sound of it scraping past caused no damage.

Mandorla’s eyes brightened; simultaneously, Bai Ye’s report came over the earpiece—she was hit three times but unharmed. Mandorla felt a subtle shift inside—maybe it was time to change her previously cautious, trembling approach, perhaps charging boldly with rifle fire.

Whoosh…

Her headband burned away, fiery red hair whipping wildly like flames, intense heat spreading silently.

Mandorla’s entire right hand was engulfed in flames, like small serpents coiling around her slender, pale arm.

The three disappeared into the shadows, the flames glowing brightly.

A figure clad in combat gear rapidly reloaded, then suddenly fell back. A jade-green frog-shaped gas bladder on his shoulder inflated, releasing a cloud of gray gas.

It blanketed a ten-meter radius.

He vanished into the mist, leaving no trace.

Mandorla, upfront, caught a whiff of a foul stench and felt dizzy—the gas was toxic.

“Heh, die!”

A voice came from within the fog.

Whizz! Whizz! Whizz!

A volley of bullets blazed forth!

Ting! Ting! Ting! Ting!

The bullets struck Mandorla and her companions, merely staggering them, slowing their steps.

Dozens of shell casings clattered to the ground.

“Impossible! How can all three of you superhumans carry extraordinary artifacts?! Damn it!” The voice in the fog was frantic.

The next moment, Mandorla extended her palm.

Her lips parted softly: “Ten Embers!”

Ten fiery red snakes coiled around her arm, launching like missiles into the gas.

Boom! The flames ignited.

The gray poisonous fog burst into flames, burning fiercely.

An acrid scent of burning rose.

A muffled groan came from the fire and smoke. A figure was forced out, immediately enveloped by two shadows.

The Black Side’s marshmallow-like body coiled tightly, binding him like ropes, immobilizing him.

The Red Side’s figure grew taller, muscles rippling like a streamlined predator.

Clad with razor-sharp tiger teeth on his fists, he struck like twin javelins from above, smashing the man’s head fiercely.

Within the blink of an eye, dozens of brutal blows rained down.

Heavy, powerful, savage!

Under the relentless barrage, the opponent’s ring power light shield shattered, his face collapsing inward, blood pouring.

The Black Side released his grip, and the man fell face-first, knelt on the ground with a thud.

Scalding blood gushed from his face.

“Whew…” The Black Side lowered his bleeding hands and exhaled hot breath, casting a glance at the corpse.

“Did we really kill him at first sight?!”

He found it hard to believe, mainly due to prior combat experiences. Usually, just two ordinary psi-ringers from the Saint Flame Society could suppress a squad of C12-class C-level superhumans.

Stronger forces could even wipe out entire squads.

Though these psi-ringers weren’t direct combat types, with toxic fog obscuring vision in a ten-meter radius, ring power light shields, and assault rifle attacks, even three of them were nearly unstoppable.

Though outnumbered three to one, they could still turn the tide.

A slight misfortune, and a single burst of fire could wipe them out. Their physical defense was only marginally superior to ordinary humans—far from enough to withstand bullets.

Thus, in battle, one side wore a turtle shell for brief invulnerability, while the other’s fragile health forced frantic evasions.

No wonder lower-tier superhumans paled compared to low-level psi-ringers.

Now, with the transformation pendant, superhumans bridged that gap. Mandorla and her two comrades became fearless in both offense and defense, fighting at full strength.

Hence, their opponent died almost instantly.

“Well done!”

Praise came through their earpieces from Bai Ye. They smiled faintly, exchanging glances at each other’s light shields.

“Captain, more enemies approaching! One psi-ringer and four second-tier Saint Flame combatants…”

Bai Ye’s warning crackled over the comms.

“No need to panic. Follow me and engage!”

Mandorla lifted her head; at the corner of her sharp yet alluring eyes, a faint red flame flickered and extended.

Three minutes later, on the gray-white street, chaos reigned.

Bullet holes, battle scars, and scorch marks were everywhere.

Three bodies lay scattered.

One figure knelt, surrounded by three slender shadows. Mandorla reached out her hand.

“No!”

The man’s face was a mask of disbelief, his head charred black by flames, life extinguished instantly.

Five minutes passed; five or six bodies lay fallen in the shadows. Mandorla and her two companions panted heavily, blood dripping from their suits, plopping onto the ground.

“Never experienced such a thrilling fight.”

“So this is the reckless feeling of a psi-ringer…”

Elsewhere, several dozen meters away on Cullen Street,

This was the defense zone of squad C13, led by White Wolf, whose superhuman ability was enhanced steel claws.

During combat, his bones jutted out wildly from his hands, sharper and more deadly than ordinary blades.

Clang!

Steel claws swung, desperately blocking a long horizontal sword strike. White Wolf was pushed sideways by the tremendous force, skidding several steps before stopping.

A bright silver blade slashed through the air.

Blood sprayed as a deep gash marked White Wolf’s right arm. He already bore five or six deep wounds.

“Damn, can’t hold on much longer…”

White Wolf’s heart sank. The C13 squad was considered relatively strong, which was why he dared ask Mandorla to watch over them. Yet now, he was barely holding on—three psi-ringers had arrived, along with five or six second-tier combatants.

The entire squad was pressed to the brink under immense pressure, fighting a desperate, shaky battle—retreating and exchanging fire while dodging bullets.

Everyone was injured to some degree; several had been critically wounded by three bullets each, barely able to withstand.

“Requesting backup! Requesting backup!”

White Wolf dodged an attack, calling into the comms in desperation.

“Backup? You won’t be getting any!”

The young man wielding the blade launched another fierce strike; the heavy blade sliced through the air with a whistle.

White Wolf dodged swiftly; the blade cut into a nearby building wall, sliding smoothly as if slicing tofu.

“Ah!!!” A scream rang out not far away.

White Wolf turned his head, eyes wide with rage.

“Black Hawk!”

A head flew up like a bloody cannonball.

Black Hawk’s headless body collapsed.

A young man flicked blood from his blade, wearing a mocking smile.

“Dare to be distracted before me!”

“You’re next to die!!!”

Whoosh!

The blade streaked like a white flash toward White Wolf’s neck. His pupils contracted, fear flooding his heart instantly.

“Bing Li… farewell.”

Ding!

A fist adorned with tiger teeth charged from behind, colliding with the powerful downward strike.

Two figures shot forward like arrows.

“You’re next to die!”
