012 Let’s go through the process N more times.
[Skill: Interrogation (Ruthless Version)]
The assassin Cassius stepped forward and began the brutal questioning.
Skill activated!
Cassius spread his arms, commencing the interrogation.
“Hand of God!”
“Hngh hngh hngh, aaahhhhhh...”
“Savage Strike!”
“Hmph! I won’t say a word! Ahhhh...”
“Heh, interesting! Divine Kidney Strike!”
“Oooohhh... I’d rather die than yield! Ugh...”
“A real tough one! Now, behold my Supreme Fist!”
“Ahhhhhh... gah!”
Assassin C lost consciousness. When he awoke, his eyes were vacant, as if a portion of his memory had been erased.
[This man is resilient. All assassins from the Ruins Organization undergo professional anti-interrogation training. You must torment them repeatedly to break their psychological defenses.]
A. Repeat the process: “You’re awake...” ×N
B. Make an example: (#`Д´)ノ✄╰ひ╯
C. Switch to verbal threats (might work)
D. Finish him with a bullet: ▄︻┳一·“Bang!”
Shunan chose A, as it seemed the most reliable.
Cassius walked to the bedside, expressionless.
“You’re awake. Let’s go through the process again...”
Assassin C’s eyes flew open wide.
“Hand of God!”
“Hngh hngh hngh aaahhhhh...”
“...”
“...”
Second blackout. Moments later, the second awakening.
Assassin C opened his eyes, the corners streaked with bloodshot veins, a sheen of tears glimmering around his eyes.
What’s happening to me? It feels like I’ve had a nightmare...
A terrible, terrifying nightmare!
Then a familiar face leaned in close.
“You’re awake. Let’s go through the process again...”
Assassin C shuddered—he remembered everything!
But it was already too late.
“Aaah! Aaah! Aaahhh!”
...
Sixth blackout. Sixth awakening.
A devilish voice echoed from above.
“You’re awake. Let’s go through the process again...”
“No need, I’ll tell you everything. Ask whatever you want, then give me a quick end!”
Assassin C gazed longingly at the sunset outside the window.
Sunlight filtered through the glass, casting a thin, gauzy golden veil across the bedroom—a hazy, dreamlike atmosphere.
[Under your tender care, this hard man is finally willing to talk. But you cannot be sure his information is true. So now you should:]
A. Repeat the process ×N, breaking him completely. Only then will he tell the truth!
B. Draw the curtains to make things more serious!
C. Start questioning (he may still lie)
D. Finish him with a bullet: ▄︻┳一·“Bang!”
Shunan chose C—option A had already been repeated six times, each round taking seven minutes.
As a player, he simply did not have that much patience.
[Begin your questioning. Your options:]
A. What organization are you from?
B. What were you searching for in my house?
C. Where is my daughter Robin now?!
D. What’s the story with the handguns you use?
This was a multi-choice dialogue; each option could be selected for a detailed, in-depth conversation. Afterwards, you could click "back" to return to the main interface and continue with the next question.
With a click of the mouse, Cassius spoke in a low voice.
“Where is my daughter Robin now?!”
“She’s already been taken by members of the organization—five hours ago, from Crescent City’s Baiyun Airport.”
Assassin C answered honestly, without concealment.
He seemed to be telling the truth; at least, his expression and eyes showed no sign of evasion, even a measure of candor.
Shunan clicked the mouse to ask the next question.
“Where are your people taking her?!”
“The flight departed from Crescent City, Wigran United Kingdom, heading to Nilodo, the third largest city in the Agali Federation. That’s all I know—the people who picked her up are not from our department.”
“Is there any more information?”
“That’s all I have on Robin. We’re only peripheral operatives; our intel is limited. But I do know there’s a branch office in Nilodo that serves all organization members.”
“Give me the details on that branch!”
“It’s at 158 Pound Street, northern outskirts of Nilodo...”
Shunan began taking notes, pulling a blank notebook and a pen from the drawer.
He recorded every word Assassin C said.
This game was incredibly realistic—both in graphics and atmosphere—so Shunan took it seriously.
He enjoyed this sense of earnest immersion.
Of course, that required the game to be good enough.
Finished with the notes, there were no more in-depth options.
Returning to the main question menu, he selected option A.
“What organization are you from?”
“Subordinate to the Ruins Organization, Assassin Guild.”
Ruins Organization? Shunan rubbed his chin.
So the previous placeholder symbols stood for "Ruins."
“What kind of organization is the Ruins Organization?”
“I don’t know.” Assassin C shook his head.
“Be honest!” Cassius barked.
“I really don’t know! I only know I belong to the Assassin Guild. I know nothing of the Ruins Organization. All our missions come from the Guild!”
“Then tell me, what is the Assassin Guild like?”
Shunan clicked the only option on the screen.
“The Assassin Guild is a global, cross-regional assassin organization, with operations in 172 countries. Its full name is the Saint Roland Assassin Guild, but as it’s the most well-known, widespread, and powerful among all assassin organizations, it is simply called the Assassin Guild.”
A detailed Q&A followed, in which Assassin C gave a thorough account of the Guild, including information on other factions.
Returning to the main menu, Shunan chose option B.
“What were you searching for in my house?”
Shunan already knew the answer from a previous playthrough—it was a stone Robin had collected.
That stone was surely extraordinary.
Now, Assassin C answered Cassius’s question.
“A stone—a meteorite fragment. We have specialized equipment to verify it.”
“Show me the equipment!”
Cassius received an electronic watch.
It was round, with a smooth mirrored face and a digital display. The bezel was obsidian-colored, with two embedded buttons.
A. Power on/off (displays time)
B. Detection (place in palm for twenty seconds)
Shunan glanced at the watch but chose not to equip it, suspecting it might have a tracker.
If he carried it around, he’d likely be found.
After all, he had killed operatives of the Saint Roland Guild.
And he already knew which stone it was.
He tossed the watch onto the bed.
With a click, he moved to the final question.
“What’s the story with the handguns you use?”
