"Hunter No. 8 killed Hunter No. 2 in Zone C!"
"Hunter No. 2 confirmed dead!"
"Collaborators: Hunter No. 3, Hunter No. 4!"
"Repeat..."
The broadcast had barely ceased before it resonated again.

"Hunter No. 9 killed Hunter No. 1 in Zone C!"
"Hunter No. 1 confirmed dead!"

Two conflicts erupted simultaneously in Zone C! On one side, three hunters even joined forces. Clearly, some agreement had been reached—they had decided to act together, at least temporarily, in Zone C...

Beside a woodland stream, No. 9, the Snake-Eyed Hunter, was gasping for breath. His hunt had indeed succeeded.

On the ground lay the corpse of a bald man, blood seeping into the stream and swirling outward in a faint red haze.

But the price of victory was steep. Snake-Eye had slain his opponent, but he himself was wounded. His left arm was nearly useless, blood dripping from mangled flesh.

Never underestimate your opponent, even when you’ve gained the upper hand. In a contest where neither side knows the other’s cards, a sudden reversal is always possible.

Moments ago, Snake-Eye had employed the power of his Poison Eye, forcibly blinding his opponent’s vision for five seconds. Unexpectedly, his adversary possessed a similar ability, and Snake-Eye was simultaneously afflicted with hallucinations, beset by strange illusions.

Two blind men began firing wildly—when their shotguns emptied, they switched to pistols, exhausting every bullet.

Snake-Eye’s luck was poor; not a single shot struck No. 2. No. 2’s bullets, however, hit Snake-Eye’s left arm, nearly breaking it.

Fortunately, No. 2’s hallucinations lasted only three seconds, while Snake-Eye’s blindness endured for five! On the fourth second, Snake-Eye regained his senses, endured the pain, and shot the delirious No. 2 dead. It was a victory that left him grievously wounded.

"Huff… huff…"

Snake-Eye swallowed hard, hastily treated his wound, and prepared to leave. Suddenly his steps faltered.

At some unknown moment,

Three figures had encircled him completely.

"Wait, please, I—"

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Three consecutive bullets struck Snake-Eye, sending him flying like a rag doll.

"Hunter No. 3 killed Hunter No. 9 in Zone C!"
"Hunter No. 9 confirmed dead!"
"Collaborators: Hunter No. 4, Hunter No. 8!"

The broadcast announcement made the remaining three hunters’ eyes narrow. Hunters No. 1, No. 2, and No. 9 were dead; Hunters No. 3, No. 4, and No. 8 had formed an alliance. For three lone wolves without partners, this was grim news.

Five minutes later.

"We should aim for mutual victory, shouldn’t we?"
"Glad to cooperate!"

In a secluded corner, No. 5 and No. 6 shook hands. Under the threat of the trio, these two came together.

"I think we should find No. 7 and invite him to join us. If he understands the situation, he’ll surely agree," said No. 5.

"And if he refuses?"

"Then we eliminate him! I’ll give you his abnormal shotgun. With two top-tier weapons, we may not lose to their trio, don’t you think?"

A sly smile appeared on the wrinkled face of No. 5.

No. 6’s metallic prosthetic eye rotated, and she nodded.

In a woodland hollow, Cassius was field-dressing a tiger. The beast had taken three bullets before it died.

As the hunt progressed, prey became more resilient and better defended—even highly aggressive. Hunting tigers with a medium-sized shotgun was risky; even several shots might not kill it, and the hunter could easily end up mauled instead.

While Cassius was cleaning his kill,

Two figures were stealthily closing in from a distance.

No. 6 advanced step by step, her metal eye sweeping across the woods, searching for Cassius. No. 5 followed, brandishing his heavy shotgun.

"Found him. He’s over there, a hundred meters out," No. 6 declared, suddenly stopping and pointing.

"Let’s go," said No. 5.

They moved closer, closing in steadily.

Cassius seemed unaware of the looming danger.

No. 5 and No. 6 walked lightly, with professional military skill, making little sound.

No. 6 raised her gun, aiming at Cassius’s head. No. 5 watched, making no move to intervene—in fact, he seemed to welcome it.

No. 6 fired.

Bang!

Bang!

"Two shots?"

No. 5 suddenly realized Cassius had vanished.

Blood sprayed as No. 6’s chest opened up—a red mist exploded, staining the ground.

No. 6 looked down in disbelief. Her heart had been pierced!

"I hate when people point guns at my head," a cold voice murmured in her ear.

"He can teleport!" was No. 6’s final thought.

For in the next second, her head was gone.

At Cassius’s voice, No. 5 acted swiftly, activating his own firearm ability.

His hands moved lightning-fast, ignoring recoil for five seconds—his heavy shotgun roared twice in rapid succession!

There was no time for camaraderie; now was the moment to annihilate the enemy, to eliminate every threat nearby!

Boom! Boom! The terrifying roar echoed through the mountains.

It was as though a wild beast howled at the sky.

Such was the dreadful power of a four-barreled heavy shotgun!

Half of No. 6’s body was blown apart, fragments spraying in a fan-shaped arc. Even the bark of trees behind her was stripped away, as if plowed by blades.

The power was immense, the damage wide.

But if you missed, it meant nothing!

No. 5’s body trembled—he suddenly felt a cold, hard gun barrel pressed against his back.

"How does it feel to have a gun pressed against you? Comfortable?"

Bang!

A bullet tore through his heart, blasting his body open. Yet No. 5 managed to turn around, and in his dying moment fired a shot behind him.

The bullet struck the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

"He’s toying with me… like a cat playing with a mouse…"

With humiliation and unwillingness, No. 5 collapsed.

Before his screen, Xiu Nan took out a sheet of paper and drew a big cross over the names of Hunter No. 5 and Hunter No. 6.

"Only three left… Oh, here they come."

In the upper left corner of the screen, three blurry black dots were approaching, clearly drawn by the gunfire.

"They’ve engaged!"
"Hurry!"

Hunter No. 4 and Hunter No. 8 rushed forward.

But Eagle-Eye, Hunter No. 3, slowed, slower and slower, until finally he turned and ran directly in the opposite direction, vanishing into the forest in just a few moments.

The two in front were so eager for battle that they failed to notice.

Only when they drew within fifty meters of Cassius did they realize a companion had disappeared.

"Where’s No. 3?" No. 4 and No. 8 looked at each other.

At that moment, the broadcast sounded.

"Hunter No. 7 killed Hunter No. 5 in Zone C!"
"Hunter No. 5 confirmed dead!"
"Hunter No. 7 killed Hunter No. 6 in Zone C!"
"Hunter No. 6 confirmed dead!"
